Budget Help Needed!

Hi Ladies!!

Okay, I've booked my venue (ceremony and reception), have my food taken care of, booked my photographer, and I have my invites.

I'm trying to look at my budget to see what I have left, how much I think I will be spending on other venues, and could really use some help.

If anyone would be willing to share..:
1. How much are you spending on floral? What are you getting for that money (extravagent, basic, fancy flowers, in season, etc) ?

2. How much are you spending on your cake? How many layers? How intricate of a design is it?

3. What is the fee for your officiant? (I'm looking to hire a basic Christian pastor)

I'm skipping a videographer but if there are any other vendors you'd care to share that I may have missed, please feel free to include them!

Thank you!! I really appreciate it. I'm just looking to get some rough estimates to allot some money towards vendors and see if I'll have enough left to hire a DOC (I want Danielle!).

I don't have any of this set yet, but am interested to hear what people say.  I talked to Gil Sosa this week about flowers and told him my flower budget is $2,000 and he responded "not to scare you but i don't think that is possible" obvi not calling him back but I'm interested to see what people are spending before i call someone else.  I am not really into flowers either and told him I didn't care what i used except for some tulips and didn't want a lot.

I really don't want to spend anywhere NEAR to $2k on my floral budget. I want some simple centerpieces, a couple of nice but simple bouquets for the girls and I, a few boutineers, and something to put up during the ceremony. I guess I'm being unrealistic wanting that for under 1k. UGH. I wish I was in the wedding business! <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-wink.gif" border="0" alt="Wink" title="Wink" />

I am no help on this :(

My caterer is doing my flowers, my cake is being gifted, and no officiant as it is part of my church.

But I definitely think it is easy to do your florals under 2k, even 1k if you make it very simple. Maybe use carnations, that when bunched together are super pretty?

I heard you can save a lot of money on flowers by using the same type of flowers rather than have mixtures.. as for the other things - I havent booked anything except the photographer (which i went over budget on) yet so I'll keep an eye on what people say on here.

I haven't exactly booked my florist yet, but I would DEFINITELY shop around.  I bought tall cylindrical vases from another knottie which is also going to save me a few dollar here and there.

Although I haven't booked her yet, I am going to put down a deposit with Creations By Blanca.  She was referred to me by another knottie on here, and she's VERY REASONABLE.  For about $1400, I would get a teardrop bouquet, 3 bouquets for my BM, boutineers for the groom, best man, 2 groomsman, 1 dad.  A corsage for both moms.  10 tall centerpieces consisting of orchids, roses, and callas and curly willow with a submerged orchid in my vases.  Flower petals for the cake table, sweetheart table, and sign in table.  *Edit* Forgot to mention...2 altar peices and 10 ivory bows with dangling ivy for our ceremony. This price to me is AWESOME considering I want roses, calla lilies, and orchids.  She is VERY VERY VERY NICE and will even tell you to shop around because she knows no one can beat her prices. (but in case you find anyone that will PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!!)

Here's the picture I showed her as inspiration for my centerpieces:

In regards to cake, I'm sorry I can't be much help because my cake is included with my venue. It's going to be from Cake Designs by Edda.  I have purchased cakes from them before for personal occasions and they are the BEST, they may be a little pricy but definitely worth it.

My officiant is going to be our parish priest so sorry I can't help much there either.. :c/

    1. How much are you spending on floral? What are you getting for that money (extravagent, basic, fancy flowers, in season, etc) ? I spent $500 on flowers. I got my bouquet, a throw away boquet, 1 MOH bouquet, 2 bridesmaid bouquets, 2 grandma things and 2 mom things. Then I got 11 boutinerres for guys. I didnt do centerpieces because I find tall centerpieces obnoxious when your sitting there. I did all basic roses.

    2. How much are you spending on your cake?
How many layers? How intricate of a design is it? My cake was included so Im no help.

    3. What is the fee for your officiant? (I'm looking to hire a basic Christian pastor) I spent $340 on my officiant but I wouldnt recommend him for anything.

    1. How much are you spending on floral? What are you getting for that money (extravagent, basic, fancy flowers, in season, etc) ? About $1600. I am using Victoria Park Florist in Ft. Lauderdale. I thought Steven was so nice. I feel like I am getting pretty decent flowers honestly- cream roses, hydrangeas, orchids, etc. I thought it would be more. 11 boutineers, 16 centerpeices, bridal bouquet, 4 bridemaids bouquets, 2 mom coursages and 2 church arrangements.

    2. How much are you spending on your cake?
How many layers? How intricate of a design is it? $400 with delivery- Publix in Boca. 4 tiers. 2 different flavors. they say they make it that morning so its super fresh too. Its buttercream with some intricate piping and the florist is adding a couple flowers

    3. What is the fee for your officiant? (I'm looking to hire a basic Christian pastor) ceremony is at the church and with all expenses about $500

LOL Jen! I was just thinking the same thing ... really strange thing is that aout 8 / 9 months ago or so ... I remember there was completely different responses. Most of the officiant prices were $500 (some even $600) and flowers were on average $2-3000. I know when I was looking for a florist the girls then were all using the same couple florists and everyone was expensive. I used a Knotties recommended florist who came out to be one of the cheapest... but now I read these girls have even cheaper prices for florists!!! What the hell?! LOL

No florist has quoted less than $2K for me yet, so I'm still undecided.

Ana Paz, though I thought it might be waay over my budget, was very reasonable for buttercream cake. It's 2.25/person for a four tier round cake, 130 people plus $40/delivery, comes out to about $332, before tax. They will also add on decorations and/or flowers that I provide, for no extra cost. Not to mention their cake is super delicious!!! :)

My officiant is a friend of ours, whom is a pastor at our church, so he isn't charging us.
