So, today I start the eight-week group training program with my co-workers. It's Monday, Wednesday and Friday for an hour at lunch. I stopped at the grocery store on the way into work today to get healthy lunch and snack stuff.
I'm not in any way 'overweight' but am excited to get my health back on track, and build some muscle. I've been a runner for the last ten years, but it will be fun to get some tone in my arms and maybe lose an inch or two on my thighs!
Anyway, how is everyone else doing with their healthy eating/working out?

Re: Getting healthy starts TODAY!
I suck.
I'm also taking pole dancing classes and chair dancing classes. Soooo much fun! And I've toned up significantly from those classes - they're hard work! Plus I end up feeling sexy by the end of the workout, which is a nice confidence booster. Last night, I got a little tipsy (okay, a lot tipsy) and decided to show BF my new moves. Suffice it to say he was significantly impressed.
I'm thinking of trying a spin class in February. And maybe adding in some yogalates?
I have been cooking more, and eating healthier. I have 1 cheat meal a week. I lost 2 lbs since I start... woo hoo.
my 2012 shelf:
Calindi - YOU GO GIRL! My plan is to pick up some classes when these training sessions are done. I took a hip hop dance class years ago and even thought I was the worst in the class, I still had a great time.
Bren - I love biking outside and lots of my friends keep trying to get me to try spin classes. It's a serious work out, so I say go for it!
Still here and still fabulous!
The dieting is getting easier. I still hate working out though
i lost 3.5 lbs as of last week, but i've been having a rough time in some other areas in my life so i'm really battling the stress eating and trying to fit in exercise. hopefully i can stay focused this week and fit in 3 days or so of exercise... and stay away from the oreos.

[QUOTE]You guys are inspiring me to do a weight loss ticker! I only want to drop 15 pounds, but on a 5'0" person, that's enough to make me feel less than healthy carrying it around.

tell me about it. i'm 4'10", trying to lost another 7 or so pounds by mid-March (engagement pics)... UGHHHHH!!!
[QUOTE]I've lost 8 lbs so far :) The dieting is getting easier. I still hate working out though

zOMG! 8 pounds is awesome, Beth! Do you find that it starts getting addicting to watch the scale change?
Rock on, Beth! It sounds like you're doing really good. Don't get carried away - 2 lbs per week is a really reasonable, healthy way to lose weight.
[QUOTE]Healthy lifestyle is not working out for me. I'm getting ready to drop the ticker because I've been doing nothing to make it budge. I suck.

You're not alone here...you don't suck, however, but I'm right there with you. Or if you do suck, then I suck, too, so still, you're not alone...if that counts for anything.
[QUOTE]I've taken up running in the last several months, and have gotten totally addicted! Sadly, my foot's been bothering me, so I had to rest this weekend but I have an appointment today to see my doctor, so I'm hoping he'll give me the okay to resume training. This is funny!!!
[QUOTE]I have issues with the scale. I weigh myself way too much. So I usually weigh myself on Saturday and then make BF take the scale away to his place. The last time I dieted I weighed myself way to much and it pushed me to the edge of having an eating disorder (15 lbs in two weeks is not ok) so I'm trying to avoid that this time and really lose weight in a healthy/maintainable way.

I do this, too. I know I shouldn't but I do and I always feel so bad, you'd think I'd get over it, but I must be a glutton for punishment...
Looking to lose 45 lbs... well relose 20 and then the rest of the 25...

I try not to focus too much on the number on the scale. I don't feel that this is the most accurate reflection of progress, especially when you start to gain muscle, which is more dense and heavier. Have you considered taking your measurements (i.e. waist, hips, thighs, etc)? You can see real results here if you do it once every month, and I personally think it feels more rewarding than the number on the scale.
i'm hoping i can make it to 120, although i start to feel much, much better about myself in the 137-135 range.
