Need recommendations near Lewisville

Hi all,

We live in Austin, but are planning on having our wedding ceremony at the First United Methodist Church in Lewisville, TX. Now I need help with everything else (almost). I think I've got the florist & cake nailed down, but need help with reception venue, caterer, photographer, DJ. Any recommendations for affordable, good quality providers of these services? We don't mind having a short drive (20 minutes or so) from Lewisville.

Thanks in advance!

    Hi there,

I'm planning a wedding myself, but in the last year have attended so many I stole some vendor info :)

Venue: Hickory Street Annex, Botanical Gardens, Cotton Mill
Caterer: I hear whole foods is great, but not sure about $$
Photography: Blackerby Photography- very reasonable. Poser-very $$, but both great!

Hope this helps, I'm new to the board so I will be asking a ton of things myself soon!

There's lots in the mid-cities areas:

    Venues:
    Sky Creek Ranch Golf Club
    Lantana Golf Club (loved both)
    Cowboys Golf Club
    Celebrations in Highland Village
Loads of stuff in Grapevine--Delaney Vineyards, La Buena Vida, Cross Timbers Winery, etc.
Colleyville Center (good for a large crowd and cheap to rent)

I love my photographer too--Jessica Mooney (JessicaMooney.com) She is very affordable.

Dallas is probably about 20 mintues from Dallas, without traffic and there are a ton of venues there.  Grapevine is also close by and they have some great venues.  La Buena Vida Vineyards, The Gaylord Texan, www.delaneyvineyards.com/" title="Delaney Vineyards" class="l" onmousedown="return clk(this.href,'','','res','4','','0CBIQFDAD')">Delaney Vineyards,   Irving is not too far and there is the Omni Mandalay Hotel on the canal. I think there is another venue on the canal but I can't remember.

I highly recommend my photographer, K & S Photography.  They are priced reasonably and their work is amazing. Def. check them out. Oh their website is www.kandsphoto.net

Cater - I used Savory Catering and they really worked with my budget and the food was great. Their website is www.savory-catering.com
DJ - I used my ipod and my best man mc'd the event so I really can't help on that one.  My photographer did recommend i-entertainment or Randal Stout Entertainment but I don't have first hand knowledge of them and I don't know their websites but I'm sure you can google it.

I hope this helps and congrats and good luck with the planning  Smile

Thanks everyone! I've been reading the replies to other posts too, but since I'm not from the area, I don't know what's close by and what's not. Still open to any other suggestions . . .

    Are you looking for:

    DIY or all-inclusive?

    Guest list capacity?

    Outdoor ceremony space?

Budget for photographer, etc.? We can probably give you some really detailed suggestions if you can give us that info. :)

Check out www.HIghfiredesigns.com for centerpieces. They specialize in non-floral centerpieces and they are really budget friendly.

    Good luck with your wedding!

I'm open to either DIY or all-inclusive.

Our guest list has exploded out of control, but we are really only expecting 100 guests to attend.

We're planning on a church ceremony in Lewisville, so we're looking for reception sites.

We don't currently have an itemized budget. I'm looking for the best quality for the least amount of money . . . dare to dream, right? After reading other posts, I think I have plenty of photogs & caterers to check out, but still looking for venue, DJ, & hair/makeup, etc.

DJ--We went with Melodies & Memories. She gave me $100 for finding her on the Knot, and then gave me another $100 off to get closer to the price of another DJ I was considering. We've really liked her so far, and many of the other people on here will agree.

I'd really check out Lantana if I were you--they were really good and 100 people is a great number for that venue. DIY saves you more when you have a huge guest list.

I would say stick close to your church and don't make your guests drive all the way to Dallas proper.  Places in Grapevine (like Delaney Vineyards) are a great choice.  Indian Creek Country Club in Carrollton is owned by the city and is affordable and right off of I-35.

For invitations,  try   DoodleDogAdvertising  - she is located in Lewsiville - she will design your invitations - she's a sweet heart and very cost effect.  You can check her designs out on facebook and  her website  which I think is www.doodledogadvertising.com (I could be wrong).    Good luck!

With respect to photographers,  I LOVE mine (and you get a fabulous album with it) -  BenQ Photography.     I also really liked Magaly Abbot with www.themodernimage.com/" target="_blank">www.themodernimage.com  (214) 733-6538 -  her work is fabulous and very cost effective -   they will both travel to you but I believe Magaly is closer to Lewisville.

    Good luck and congratulations!
