how does last name change affect travel?

Hey guys,

I'm about to book the plane tickets for our honeymoon but it occured to me that I don't know how changing my last name will affect the tickets. Do I just wait and change my last name after the honeymoon or is there a way to change the last name on the ticket after or what? how does this work?

    yea, you don't want to book the ticket in your new name unless you're going to have all of your documents (id & such) changed by the time you use the ticket. check to see if you can use your marrige abstract (proof of marriage) if you won't have it done in time. Best just wait until after the honeymoon to start using your married name. you don't want to get to the airport and not be able to board bc your id and ticket say different names.

    Your tickets MUST match your ID, so if you are leaving right after the wedding, there really isn't time to get your ID changed that fast (and you can't do it before you are married).  Book them in your maiden name!!
