First Look???

I'd love to hear from brides who are planning to do a First Look and see their FI before the wedding. What made you choose this?

We're doing a first look for a few reasons.

1. FI is pretty introverted, and even though he is comfortable with the guests, we'd rather have that special moment quietly, between the two of us.

2. We've seen too many disasters with not enough time for pictures. It'll nice to not be rushed and not miss any of our reception.

We are doing a first look not only so that we can get all of the family pictures (together) out of the way before the ceremony. But we also really want to be able to have those first few special moments alone together to take the whole day in and pray together over the wedding day.

Yeah, all the things others have already said. And I really like the idea of having a little alone time before the ceremony. Nontraditional, but it works for us.

We're doing the 1st Look Series. Mainly because I want US to have that alone time before the wedding. Getting most of the photos out of the way before the ceremony is just an added bonus!

1) We are having an evening wedding. The ceremony starts at 630 and we didn't want to be doing photos late into the evening. 2) We want to spend as much time with our guests as possible and enjoy our cocktail hour. 3) I wanted a bit of alone time with FI before the chaos ensues

4) I love the photos of first looks something about that moment in photos appeals to me more than having that moment in front of the guests.

We're doing a first look because 1) we don't believe in that whole bad luck thing. 2) our wedding is at 6pm and right after is the reception which we only have until midnight. so we wanted more time with the guests. 3) i'm going to be crying like crazy and want good pics before i start bawling like mad. 4) shooting photos at night is HORRIBLE.

Our main reasons for deciding to do a first look were having some more private moments and i heard you are alot more relaxed. My shower I was a bundle of nerves it was like 70 people and i didnt know all this family. Seeing him before will help ease my nerves so i can enjoy the moment asides from dont trip thoughts. Do whatever feels right for you. I actually suggested the first look to my photographer.

We are doing first look photos because:
1) We have lived together, so that in itself is non-traditional, but we're still spending the night before apart and I'll probably be super stressed the morning of, so having FI there will help!
2) We will probably sign the license before the ceremony (I've seen it done at my sister's wedding) so we'd see each other anyway, this makes it more meaningful
3) We thought that would be a nice private moment, and our photographer is our cousin so she's cool with it
4) We want as many pictures done before the ceremony as possible
5) I tend to be super self-conscious about how I look, and FI will make me feel beautiful
