Mother's Day Acknowledgment?

Our wedding is the day before Mother's Day. I thought it would be nice to do something to acknowledge the mother's at the wedding, especially my Mom and FMIL. Any suggestions on how we could incorporate something like this?

The only item I will not compromise on...my bouquet of all purple tulips wrapped in a swatch from my Mom's wedding dress.

Maybe you could do something right after your intro thanking all of the mother's for sharing this day with you and humorously remind the guests that the following day is Mother's day and remind them that they still need to get a card. Then after that on a serious note you could bring up both your and FIs mom and thank them for all there encouragement/support/guidance/being good role models and give them each a bouquet of flowers matching yours. just a suggestion or at least a staring point for you.

Rev. Mark has a "rose ceremony" you can do during the ceremony where you and FI each give a rose to the mothers as a thank you - you could have him include it and say something about it being especially important given the date.

And maybe something in the program if you have one?

I wish I had better ideas...

maybe at the reception you can have the DJ announce a special "mothers" dance and have everyone there dance with the moms? Theres probably lots of songs that could work for this... here's a link with some options

This! I was going to suggest something similar... and perhaps a small gift or bottle of wine to the person who has been a mother the longest? Not sure about the gift idea but just throwing things out there! :)

I did something similar, except it was who had been married the longest. The winner got a small bouquet. We also gave our mothers roses during the ceremony, right after we lit the unity candle.

We did the rose ceremony and MIL lost it, I think my mom almost did too.  It was very sweet and a total surprise to them (we skipped it during the rehearsal so they didn't find out).
