Painting your cat?

I was board hopping and noticed Larissa has a white cat that she painted some sort of jersey on him.

What do you think about this? Would ever paint your cat or have it painted?

(I don't know what it was painted with, make up, no idea)

I just thought it was random, no opinion either way.

Re: Painting your cat?

  • My cats are black, and besides that fact, they'd never sit still long enough to be painted.

  • Larissa would paint her cat. Uh, I think it's pretty silly. And I would worry about pulling the cat's fur after the paint dried, cause paint kind of contracts as it dries.

  • No.  Both of our cats would freak the fuuck out, and I can't imagine that ingesting paint (because they would just start incessantly grooming themselves to get it off) of any kind would be good for them.

  • I had a poodle who we painted spots on. It was with koolade and conditioner. So we were giving him his bath at the same time.

  • That seems kind of awful.  Not to mention ridiculous.

  • Link to said picture?
  • My very first Chihuahua was cute and would let us paint her nails hot pink.  Other than that, I'm thinking this isn't very practical or good for the animal.
  • I'm quite certain I'd lose an eye if I ever tried that with my cat.

  • What the hell? Why would you ever need to paint an animal?

  • I could definitely see Larissa doing this.  Didn't she GBCK?

I would never paint my cat.  They would ingest when they started grooming themselves.  That can not be good for the poor animal.
  • My cat doesn't like anything touching her, aside from when I pet her. She would freak out and I would be bloody.

I also think it's kind of mean.
  • WTF? Didn't Larissa GBCK. Which board was this on? Did she take her blogs out of her sig? Andplusalso that's farking weird. She's weird.

  • Sorry guys, just got back in. She's over on WP.

This. I actually go overboard protecting my cat from things that might harm him. My FI thinks I'm crazy, but sometimes it's like having a baby in the house. So why would someone purposely do this?

  • Oh yeah, Brie you bring up a good point. I have no idea what she painted him with, maybe it's edible?

  • Even more confirmation that Larissa is a weird freak.
  • Yeah, what happened to her getting banned for being a vendor?

  • Even if it's pet-safe/edible, I can't imagine it's particularly good for the cat.

I think she was just told if she didn't take the links out, she'd be banned. Her sig looks shorter, but the school blocks some pics, so I don't know if it really is.

  • Safe or not, why would you chose to stress your animal out by painting it than following up with the bath to remove the paint?  From what I remember when I had cats, they aren't the biggest fan of the bathtub.

  • She's still got a million blogs in her sig.

Here's a pic of the cat for anyone who can't see it or doesn't want to surf over to WP:

No way whit, she posted over here like last week and her sig was still COMPLETELY intact, blogs and all. I commented and she ignored me.

I bet she is selling painted cats now. Or added cat painting to her beautiful face painting repetoire.

Well boo. Apparently TK has selective banning issues.
