Bridal shower invitation etiquette

What is the proper etiquette for bridal shower invitations? We are on a budget, so does my bridal party have to invite all female wedding guests, or can they invite fewer people to the shower?

    Fewer people can be invited to the shower. You do not need to invite every female guest to the the shower.

    You definitely don't need to invite every female guest.  They should be inviting the closest people to you.  My shower had friends and family but every female guest was not invited.
