I've been meaning to write you a note about the honeymoon- Excellence Riviera Cancun! We had an amazing time! The resort is beautiful and all the staff are over the top friendly. They get you anything you need. The food was actually really good (I have a weak stomach so I was a little worried, but I was fine the whole time) and they have top shelf liquor at the bars. The swim up bar was pretty cool too. (order the nachos when you're by the pool-- so yummy!)
Best restaurants were definitely the Japanese (def do the hibachi! so good!) and the Italian. The not so good ones were the Mexican (which is weird considering you're in mexico) and the Mediterranean. The French restaurant is also good and Room Service was always great.
The Mediterranean is good in the morning- they have a huge breakfast buffet with pretty much anything you can think of, and an omelet station.
The rooms were nice- they re stock your mini fridge every day with beer, soda, candy, snacks, bottled water, etc. There is a huge walk in shower which I loved and a jacuzzi tub. The beds were a little hard, but not bad at all.
They have shows every night-- def go to the Michael Jackson one on Tuesdays- the guy is so good! and various events going on through out the day (cooking lessons, tequila tasting, dance lessons, etc.) We went paddle boating and kayaking.
warning: bring bug spray for nighttime! Our legs got all bit up the first night- but after that we wore bug spray stuff and it was fine.
We were part of the Excellence Club...are you doing that??
The Excellence Club has their own pool which was nice because we could always get a great seat or chair under the 'umbrella trees' we called it. Down by the other pools, if you want a good seat- get up early and put towels on your chairs- they fill up quickly.
We spent one day at the beach but preferred the pools because there are sand flees on the beach and the water has like no waves or anything- not like the jersey shore
But overall we had a fantastic time and no real complaints!
