s/o- How old are you?

24

Re: s/o- How old are you?

  • H and I are both 27.

By this age, my mom was already married, divorced and on her 4th kid (me). She married my dad when I was 2, and had my little brother when I was 4.

On the flip side, H's parents didn't get married and start having kids till they were in their 30s.

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: s/o- How old are you? : I was totally ready to settle down at 20 (when H and I met). Not necessarily marriage, but with "the one." I even told him before our first date, if he wasn't looking for something serious, then don't bother (this is probably why no one ever asked me out before, ha). That makes it sound like I chose the first guy who came along, but that's not how it was. H just happened to work out perfectly.

<div>That's awesome that you knew right away.  I'm not at all knocking people who find "the one" earlier in life, or saying that they weren't ready.  Just saying that I personally wasn't, so it's a little difficult for me to wrap my head around sometimes. </div><div>
</div><div>Two of my best friends started dating each other when we were 14/15.  They got married at 22/23.  They are probably the best couple I've ever met in my life. </div>

OK, I feel like half of the posts in this thread are from me, but this made me wonder about how old I look.

People are often surprised when they find out my age, but I don't know if it's because I look younger that that, or because I am really immature.
  • Good god I am so thankful I didn't marry my high school boyfriend.  We grew into SUCH different people.

    37. Blech. Dh is 39. I need to get to planning a 40th bash!
  • I'm 40 for now, at least until Feb 5th.  H is 51.  It's funny, when I was younger, 40 and 50 seemed ancient.  Now that we're there, it really doesn't seem that way.  I also worried about our age difference when we met (I was 35, he was 46) but it hasn't been an issue.  We both regret that we wasted so many years being miserable alone.  But, on the other hand, he was very bitter after his divorce and it took him a long time to open up again.  So, overall, I'm glad it worked out like it did.
  • My mom was married at 19, two kids and divorced by my age now. I never thought I would get married and pretty much turned down all talks with my ex of 5 years so it was a shock to everyone that I ended up getting married, and at 24 and after only two years with DH.
However, I "feel" more mature than most of my friends my age. Actually 90% of my friends are over 30, married, with kids ect.
I also moved out at 16 though, so I kind of had to grow up a little faster then my friends I went to school with I guess.

  • I'm 24. Already freaking out about turning 25 in September. I ate my words at this last birthday because FH was 24 when I met him and I told one of my friends that he was "kind of old". He turns 28 tomorrow and I still joke with him that he's "kind of old". :)
  • Arwo - for the longest time I thought we were the same age. Maybe because you just have so much energy (running, etc), so I just assumed that we were pretty close age-wise.

I really liked when we did the mispronounced words vlogs. It really helped put into perspective the ladies that we chat with everyday.

Ben was my high school boyfriend.  We broke up when we were seniors though and we each dated other people.  I had the same boyfriend for about six years and he had one girlfriend for like, five or six months his freshman year of college.  We are so thankful we didn't marry either of  those people, lol.  I'm still amazed we got back together.

Also, I get carded for almost everything (alcohol, cigarettes, cough medicine, etc.). My 21 year old sister NEVER does. So, she always makes fun of me when we go out together.

I was trying to think about something else to do the vlogs for the other day, because I didn't get to participate and I think they'd be fun, but I couldn't come up with anything.

No, I really haven't.  I know that where ever I live I had never been carded for cough syrup.

Do you also get carded for hand sanitizer and mouthwash? Cause I heard people get drunk off of that.
  •  My parents had my sister when they were 17 and 20. They had me at 22 and 25. By the time they were married they had been together 14 years and had two kids. They were only married 5 year before my dad passed away.

Just about everyone in my family have had children before they were married and what some may consider young.

I think acetaminophen is one of the ingredients in meth, and that's in a lot of over the counter cold medicines.

Also, anhydrous ammonia is an ingredient in meth.  You breathe that shiit on its own and it turns your lungs to beef jerky in seconds.

  • Adamar, you're right. There's an ingredient that's in meth, which is why it's a bitch to buy Advil Cold and Sinus here, especially. /:
