Cat People

Re: Cat People

  • I wouldn't consider QT to be universally liked. You have to have a certain taste in movies and while I like his movies, I can definitely understand why someone wouldn't like them.

  • I just don't go for violence and gore. I don't find slasher flicks scary, just gross. I remember a scene from Resevoir Dogs that was...disturbing.

  • Has anyone ever tried growing cat grass inside for their cats?  My cat just rubs her face in it and never eats it.  Then it grows more flies than grass.

    Inglorious Bastards was farcking awesome.

Has to be the infamous ear scene. That makes me squirm too.

  • I LOVED Inglorious Basterds. I also love Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown. And the Grindhouse movies. And From Dusk Till Dawn. <3<3<3. He was banging Kathy Griffin at one point, I think while Pulp Fiction was filming.

  • From Dusk Till Dawn is bloody (pun intended) brilliant.  I love how it's sooooooooo obvious at which point in the movie the director changes.  It's like BAM vampires.

  • This past Christmas, my friend and her boyfriend were in town, and we were discussing the fact that she was a From Dusk Till Dawn "virgin" and had never seen the movie without knowing about it, and how the boyfriend said it was so satisfying seeing her go all "WTF" with the plot change.

  • What I didn't like? True Romance.

  • I admit to having never seen True Romance.
    image
  • Just don't, Zip. It's actually terrible.

  • Well now I'm intrigued. I love terrible.

I bought H the BluRay of Monster Squad because it was only like, 7 bucks at Best Buy. He had never seen it, but I remember loving it as a kid. We watched it, and after it was over, he asked me why I bought him a movie that was so terrible.

    (I still enjoyed it.)

  • Well, see it then, but it is bad.

I had a ex-bf who LOVED bad, bad movies and thought they were hilarious. I just thought they were annoying. The worst was probably Santa's Slay.

  • *Puts Santa's Slay in Netflix queue*

I want to spend my entire weekend watching bad movies now.

We used to go through the IMDB worst movies and watch them. There are some doozies.

ETA: Santa's Slay is on instant!

  • ZOMG! Can I put it on my WiiVD?

We watched Eraserhead on the WiiVD, and H left the room after about 20 minutes. He couldn't take the weirdness.

  • Have the QT fans seen Four Rooms? It's awesome.

  • Zip, yes on the Wii! I love that.

Also, I hate, hate, hate David Lynch. I thought Eraserhead and all his movies are f-ing TERRIBLE.

LC, no! I haven't! I should. Going to Netflix now...

  • I've watched Four Rooms a long time ago. All I really remember are the first and last vignettes. I love Tim Roth.

I enjoyed Dune, Blue Velvet and Twin Peaks. They are weird as hell, though. (Not really Dune, but OMG young STING almost nekkid)

  • I forgot about Dune. I'm excluding Dune. And I've never seen Twin Peaks.

Hated Mulholland Dr. Hated Lost Highway.
