How is everyone? Weekend Plans?

Last night we picked up firehouse for dinner and then went home, and I fell asleep at 6:30 and didn't wake up- you could probably say I was exhausted!

Do they not have firehouse subs up there? I think i'd die without it, it's my favorite!

Tomorrow I'm having breakfast with my sudo-mom and then going shopping with my MIL for christmas FI works all weekend(stupid conversion, he works 3pm=3am sat and 10a to 10 p sunday, *sigh* Sunday it's chritmas cookie making with the grandma

We don't have them here, either. But I do live in West Virginia's buttcrack, so there's that.

We're going to spend the weekend at my parent's house. Mom is having some troubles, so I'm going to put up her Christmas decorations and cook. We have a baby shower for my cousin (4th cousin out of 5 having babies this year) tomorrow, and Hanging of the Green at church on sunday, so I'm making dishes for both of us to bring.

H doesn't usually work weekends this week is an exception

with responsibility comes suckyness! lol and it really stinks he's on salary

Morning ladies! I'm a weekend widow too. FI works every Sat/Sun 7am-4pm. A least he's home at night, but he's usually pretty tired and not into doing anything fun. Heading to a Dave Matthews Band concert in Toronto tonight for FI's early Christmas present. Should be a lot of fun!

Bunni, that's a lot of babies!! Hope everything is ok with your mom! My cousin just had a baby, so I keep telling my stepmom to go cuddle her baby and stop bugging me to have one already! ;-)

My best friend just had her baby and my SIL is pregnant- it's making me baby crazy- but no babies until I graduate, and we have a house *6 1/2 months!*

Edie- it's an adjustment, it sounds odd!!!

FI has to chaperone a school dance tonight, so I'll do my workout and chillax at home. Tomorrow he may have to help a friend put shingles on a cabin, and I have errands to run. I'm hoping to get my shopping finished, but it might not happen. On Sunday, the staff at my school have a kids Christmas party, so I will bring DD to that. Monday and Tuesday we have concerts and a week of craziness!

DS will be here in two weeks!

I am going to a CME conference which has sessions sat and sun am. Yesterday we had a session on treating dance injuries and they has a ballerina come in and demonstrate some things. It was really cool. Brittnany. I have been to firehouse subs. It is pretty good.

Thank you all for your concern about Mom.

Last Sunday she was taken to the hospital with chest pains. She's had a heart attack about 20 years ago, and has a pacemaker/defibrillator, so chest pains are very scary. Essentially, they told us she wasn't having a heart attack, but her heart muscle "looks terrible." Ran all kinds of tests and was released from the hospital Tuesday, with still no name for what happened. She's better-ish, but still really tired. We have to take her on the 19th to UK for a transplant evaluation.

Personally, I tend to think it was mainly stress related. We've had two family members and her best friend pass in the last three weeks. My Momaw is very sick (was given 3 weeks, closing in on 2 now) and has to have someone stay with her at all times. Popaw got sassy with the Hospice nurses, so it's left to family to take care of her. My parents and grandparents share a driveway, so even when not helping out at their house, mom is hosting whoever is staying (cooking, laundry, etc). And to top it all off, Sunday, she rear-ended my aunt's car in the driveway, which is when the chest pains started.

Eesh, that got wayyy longer than I intended it to. I just hate not being able to help out more.

Have you tried the DVDs, jcb? The nearest Zumba classes are almost 45min away, so I got the DVD set that MIL bought but never used. They are apparently more strenuous than the classes around here, and you can rewind things to do the fun parts again

My mom sent me a package with a Michael Kors purse in it. It's part of my Christmas gift. I don't know why she does these things. I guess because she wants to and can afford to. H got excited when he saw the pkg from FL at the doorstep; he thought it was her homebaked Christmas cookies. Sad face on him.

Babies...babies...babies. I'm well past that age but I guess a grandchild would be okay. Of course, my son and his FI are nowhere near that stage, and H's son isn't in a relationship anymore so we wait. And it's okay

Bunni - So sorry about your mom.

I had a bad experience at Firehouse that has nothing to do with the quality of their food and everything to do with my own stupidity, but I still have flashbacks everytime we pass one.

We went to the improv to stalk Marlon Wayans last night so I'm exhausted. And I have to still plan an entire Christmas party before Saturday night, including finding an appropriate costume for the hipster theme. I know H only chose the theme because he can just walk out of his closet and he's ready for the party.

No Firehouse Subs up here in NJ. Are they similar to Subway or are they toasted and more like Quizno's? We do have Smashburger here though. But there are so many better non-chain burger places around that we really don't go there. I'd rather pay a couple extra dollars to get a better burger.

Bunni, sorry to hear about your mom. I hope she feels better soon.

Tonight some of my friends and I are gonna watch a 1980's french movie we watched back in high school in our french class. It's called La Boum. It's not very good but is funny in the way bad movies are. I'm sure it will turn into more hanging out than watching the movie for real since there are no subtitles and is completely in french and most of us haven't taken or spoke much french in 10 years.

I think I'm going to make crock pot chili on Sunday. I'm making this recipe from my SIL's blog.

I'm here! My carpet is getting cleaned today, as well the invisible fence guy is coming. I need to stop at Petsmart on my way home and get another bed for the brat. He needs to quit tearing them up, but this one stinks and he needs a bath.

My yoga instructor is coming over tonight, I havent seen her in weeks and I just know she'll kick my ass.

This weekend is jam packed, projects, cleaning and trying to get the shopping done.

Oh and H is sick, lovely!

Morning.

I've got a house to clean today and then I'm picking up my niece from school so she can have a sleepover with me. We're gonna watch Legend (she's never seen it), eat popcorn, work on her mother's Christmas gift, and have a grand old time.

I need to get my hair cut but I'm avoiding it. My mother and sister have both cut their hair similar to how I cut mine usually and now out of spite I've been growing mine long. I'm 10 apparently.

We only buy the Kong beds JCB, they take him longer to tear up, and I use the word longer loosely, this will be his fifth. We cant go with just any dog bed because he will have it gone in seconds.

Jackie- I already mailed my last projects out to their real owners. I have one last one I'm working on then it's on to some bath salt and sugar scrubs for the family. I posted my wreaths on my FB page.

Right? Me too Jackie. I just love those extra touches that I read about here and see at friend's homes. I guess I don't have that "eye." As you look around my house, you would not know me or H lived here (except for the pics I keep in the living room); everything is just non-descript. Blah!

I have every intention of being crafty, but always seem to fall short on time. I have all the stuff, but our space is so small it's a serious undertaking to get everything out. I think that's one of the reasons that FI is okay with my being in school constantly. I turn into Martha Stewart when I'm not and it freaks him out. In the last five years: upgraded Bachelor degree, completed Bachelor of Ed, started Master's of Ed. I am totally a 'professional student'!

I need to get crafty again.

You'd think that being an art major in college that I'd want to do stuff like that all the time. Unfortunately sometimes it just makes me feel like I'm doing a school project and I don't enjoy it as much. Same goes for doing design work when I'm at home. It took so much motivation after too much procrastination to finally design my own wedding invitations.

Maybe today during some free at work time I'll browse Pinterest for some new DIY Christmas present ideas and revisit some older pins that I saved awhile ago to inspire myself this weekend while H is playing D&D with his friends on Sunday.

I don't have the patience for craft projects. My best friend is always trying to involve me in some project or another. I usually half-heartedly join in thinking that I'll start to enjoy once I actually DO it. But that's not the case.

This is the way I feel when people tell me to sell mine, it takes the fun out of it for me. I like to make them and use them around the house, or give them away. If I was suddenly forced I wouldnt do it anymore.

I've only seen them at Petsmart and they arent even on their website. They fit in their crates really well. But he gets bored and he gnaws, with his scissor teeth, they dont last.

You'll look in his crate and it looks like it snowed green stuff.

H will walk over and go "look honey, we have a little deer amongst the snow"
