How do I let my bridesmaids know which dress I've decided on for them?

This may seem really basic, but I finally settled on a dress for my bridesmaids (after a tedious process of taking everyone out at some point to look at the three options I had it narrowed down to, then getting their opinions, budgets, etc).  The only thing is, how do I let them know which dress I've decided to go with?  I feel weird just being like, "Hey, go buy this dress."

So...any tips?  Any advice on the easiest, most efficient way to let them know which dress is the winner?  The wedding is in July so now seems like the right time for them to order.

Thanks in advance Smile

  • Hey awesome sister/best friend/friend that always has my back, I just wanted to let you know that I settled on a dress for the wedding.  It is XYZ dress by ABC designer in JKL color.  If you order it from TUV shop they said the last date to get it with out rush fees is 00/00 .  The cost with out alterations is $.

You could call them and tell them this, do it in person, or by email.
  • I sent them all a group email saying that I had decided on the one, and to see if they wanted to handle ordering on their own, do it as a group order, or have me come with them to try on. (I had already gotten their budgets ahead of time and gotten input on the options I was looking at.)

    Sounds reasonable to me.

  • They probably won't care... they are probably anxious and excited to find out which one it is!
  • I just got an email from my MOH (I'm a BM in her wedding) pretty much saying just that!  Letting us know which dress we were wearing (there are 2 different kinds), where we can order from, when to order by, what accessories to wear.  Pretty straight forward =]

  • I had my girls try one a few dresses and then I simply said, "I like this one the best and it looks good on all of you! This is the dress!" hehehe

But if you can't get them all together, then I would go with everyone else, just email them or text them a picture of the dress and say you found the dress!

Also, be careful. Sometimes the dress looks great online or in a mag, but that doesn't mean they look good in person and on everyone.

  • Just call or email and say "I picked out the bridesmaid dress!!".

  • I think I'd prefer it to be in an email. That way the info is easily at my fingertips, rather than trying to remember it or jotting it down.
  • If they have all tried on the dress at one point or another, and they all have liked it.  Just send them a text.email and say that youve finally decided on the dress that looks amazing on everyone and give them style number and ask if they all want to go order themselves or you could say "Girls Day! Lets meet up for lunch, and order dresses!"
  • Call each of them.
