He is deployed..... haven't heard from him in a couple days. No news is good news... right?! Haven't heard anything that should cause concern, just a feeling in my gut.

Shan I had that feeling a lot when H was deployed. This is your first deployment no? I felt that so much.. H flew a LOT near Iran last deployment, and they aren't afraid to shoot at us, should we slip into or near enough to their airspace. It really bugged me.
It especially bugged me those times I wouldn't hear from H for a day or two (since that didn't happen often). It always just turned out to be that he landed, had to get to bed ASAP to get his required 8 hours off the books before flying again.
I'm not going to tell you to try to stop the feeling, because you can't.. On those nights I would sit with sappy youtube videos (I can post my faves if you need them ;) ) and sing along to my own pity party. Then I would put on some Office or somethign that was hilarious and distracting.. and fell asleep to that noise, instead of letting my worried mind keep me up all night.

He is safe. I just know it. If you need more comfort, look up the stats of your H's type of plane crashes. I bet it's crazy low. H's is. It'll make you feel a tiny bit better. BUt really your mind is going to wander off where it wants to... The Office, HIMYM, and Friends always helped me <3

[QUOTE]It's lame, but Idk.. Sometimes I find useful information in it..  It's just geared way more towards spouses and their kids.. Um.. Just because I'm a military spouse doesn't mean I'm a baby making machine.  I hate that particular sterotype. FTL-You better post lots of pictures!!

I read a thing about military spouses and being surrogates. It was pretty interesting

Shan! Did I miss a post from you or something? I didn't know your H was gone too!!  I'm sure he's perfectly fine.  I get those feelings sometimes and I've only been sort of right once, and that was when the earthquake happened in Japan (Sorry. I know that's not really helpful, but hopefully you know what I'm sayin!)  Your H is safe and sound!!

Can I just tell you guys, that the block button is my new BFF!!  Y'all better watch out!! Don't piss me off or you'll get blocked too!!Wink

hahaha Sami (if you didn't block me and can see this :P) , TOTALLY agree. I love the block button right now. :o)

    ETA:
    1. Your siggy is adorable
    2. I didn't realize your H was there during the Earthquake.. Idk why that never came to mind.. Was he greatly affected? I had quite a few people living in the affected areas, but they were all safe.. Obvious your H was safe since he's alive and kicking! but was it really bad for him? :/

FTL- I ended up having to tell him about it! I was totally freaking out because obviously phone lines and internet were down there and I was calling and emailing him like crazy and he finally got a signal and called me and was like "WTH is your deal woman!?" I told him and he was like "Ohhh!! I guess that's why we have no internet!" Silly Him.  Where he is in Japan, he was actually really lucky. They had no damage at all. He's on the water but protected by more land.. (It would make sense if you were looking at a map of Japan) so where he's stationed they just had some downed power lines or something.  He went to and did some relief work shortly there after it, like him and a few friends just went to help.  I was really proud of him for that.

ooooh Is he in Oki? Oh maybe you can't answer that.. hmmm..
Well I'm glad that he was safe and sound.. Although that's hilarious that he was completely oblivious while you're freaking out! (hilarious in hindsight.. obviously not at the time.. very scary at the time)

Aww .. :] That's really sweet of them to volunteer to help out with such a mess. What a scary time to be in Japan... :/

He has his days!! haha.. Yeah it was pretty hilarious, but I mean I had like his family, my family, everyone was calling me and asking if he was okay and I was crying and like "IDKKK!!!! Stop asking!!" We all get a chuckle out of it now though.

Has anyone else seen "Hart of Dixie"?  I thought it would be super lame and cheesy, but I love it cause it makes me feel like I'm at home (I don't joke about how thick my accent is)... and I'm prone to a hissy fit every now and then.. I'll probably name my kid Lemon now!Wink

I always get on these late! (At least for me who gets up early)

I just had a fantastic time with one of my Bridesmaids.. we had dinner and went to the mall to trying on different style dresses to see what type of dress would go best for bridesmaid dresse.... Without buying into the wedding monster.   There are some UGLY dresses out there. I mean HIDEOUS. After finding nothing in the normal dress section. I hate how Dillards sets their stores up by designer.. I just want to look at dresses, I don't want to look through every designer to find a dress I like. But there were some just some plain flat out ugly stuff in the old lady section, that you wonder if people ever buy them.

We went into this one store that was literally half sex shop with mesh dresses, rhinestone bras,, hooker heels, and the other half was church outfits with really modest dresses.  WTF. I can't find a website for the store anywhere.

Apparently Oklahoma is in a state of emergency from the Earthquakes. http://newsok.com/article/3621610 . Interesting. I don't know if I agree with that because I think the damage is pretty isolated really close to the epicenter.

Shan- I know not hearing from him is very hard.  H is deployed right now and the first thing I do in the morning is check e-mail to see if he has sent anything.  I always breathe a sigh when I see that he has sent some form of communication.  I do hate that no news is good news but it is true.  I hope that you get to hear something soon from him as I know it is very uneasy to not hear anything.  T&P are coming your way.  I tend be doing a lot of that these days.

Thank you ladies. If you didn't know H was gone than I did my job :-p LoL I wasn't really expecting to hear anything yet, but I wasn't expecting "that feeling." I know this is sad but I was hoping it was about someone else in my family/inner circle.

FTL It is our first deployment and I keep telling myself, he can't die during his first deployment! I dunno what I am going to say when it's his second, third, fourth etc.. but for right now it is working. :) I have this app for my iPod (easy relax), it plays rain, waves, a campfire etc.... it's my go to sleep aid and works everytime. That and Journalling my feelings seem to be working.

That's great shan. I'm glad you found something to help. Once it's over you will be telling yourself that wasn't so bad. Promise.  :] It's hard not to think about death, but remember that aviation mortality rates have gone crrraaaazzzzzzy far down since the beginning of the iraq war, and it's been Army, not AF (or Navy, to cheer myself up). Not that it's good that it's been Army, just that the statistics are in our particular circumstances' favors. Feeling any better today?
