Ormond Plantation?

Hi! Has anyone been to or heard about weddings at Ormond Plantation in Destrehan, LA? I'm from OOT and love the look of this venue but can't seem to find a lot about it as far as reviews go. I've found 1 really good and 1 really bad review.

Also, I am hoping to have a shuttle bus from the FQ and back for an evening wedding, which I haven't researched yet, but I'm hoping they will go that far?? I'm sure for the right price they will, but does anyone have experience going on the out to the planations from downtown NO?

    Yes, bride and grooms arrange shuttles from downtown to weddings at a plantation frequently.  Hotard will do it, but I know they're one of the more expensive companies to use.  Typically they leave from one of the hotels with a block set up at it, or make the rounds of all the hotels with blocks set up for the wedding.  Keep in mind buses aren't allowed in the FQ, so if you have hotel blocks there, they won't be able to do curbside service.

    I knew a girl who had her reception at Nottaway Plantation. She had hotel blocks at The Ritz, The Windsor Court and The Roosevelt- all on Canal. After her ceremony, she chartered 3 or 4 coaches and hired waiters to serve cocktails and hor d'oeuvres to guests over the hour long trip. So, it's definitely possible!
