I'm a Democrat, but I do try really hard to keep a balanced view and not think my party is the end of be all and all that stuff. Ih ave some real problems with our platform this year, but it still is fewer problems than the Repub, Green or Lib platforms.
YESTERDAY WAS THE MOST AWESOMESAUCE CONVENTION EVER. I wasn't this excited back in 2004 b/c Obama wasn't my first, second or third pic for president, so I was nursing wounds. And the speakers just didn't seem to be as amazing. But holy balls, I finally gave up trying to be impartial and starting cheering at my computer screen and on twitter and FB. If I felt that much energy in my house by myself, I can't imagine what it must've been like at the actual convention.
The bests of the night (I can't pick just one): Strickland, Ledbetter (one tweet comments she left the stage with a trail of testicles behind her), Tammy Duckworth (I would move to vote for her), the Lihn family and Patrick. I thought Castro did a good job and Michelle was eloquent and moving (though I think it veered a bit close to the same complaints I had about Ann Romney).
I have no idea how they're going to keep this energy up.
