Help! Shower dates

Hi I am getting married and planning my friends jack and Jill wedding shower..we want to do it in Bristol and have like a 4th of July BBQ style but were having trouble figuring out what date to do it on..the 4th is a Wednesday an we don't want to do it exactly on the 4th so I was thinking either Saturday before or after or the 3rd even though it's a Tuesday..In our area most people don't work the 4th..so I need opnions please!! Thanks!

    I think I would stick with whichever weekend day works best for the hosts and bride. Most people will probably be working on the 3rd, so that might make it difficult for them to attend.

    ETA - You should take into account that week is vacation week for a lot of people, too. There may be guests at either end of the week that will not be around. Make sure you check availability for all VIPs.
