Fuschia Color Themes

I have always wanted a winter wedding with red as the color theme, however, since our wedding is now in Sept. I think I want to do fuschia but I'm trying to think of what other colors to do with it.  I don't really think fuschia and black is what I want.  I love rich colors and the vintage style.  I liked the red and brown theme, so I was thinking maybe fuschia and brown but I'm not really sure that goes together.  Thoughts?

I will be having a manzanita branch type centerpieces with lots of crystals, lots of candles, some centerpieces will be a little different to make it cheaper but the same general theme.

Anyone else doing a fuschia scheme?

I had turquoise with fuschia (a bright, rich pink).  What time of day is your wedding?  You could do something really dark and elegant/romantic with fuschia or something bright with pops of color if it's during the day or outside!

I think that fuschia and brown would be very pretty.  I thought about doing that too!

Both the ceremony and reception will be at the Landmark Center, which always brings in the vintage vibe due to the location.  Hmm Kristi, maybe it will still look pretty together.  When I've looked up the pink/fuschia centerpieces etc., I haven't come across that color combo unfortunately......I still need to look though more.  LS-I do like your color combo too..........hmm decisions decisions:)  At least I have a decent amount of time!

What about a dark fuschia and a pewter color?

Shades of fuschia, light pink, and red would be really romantic.  Knottie bmflowers (sp?) had those colors in her wedding last year.

Fuschia and black could be really rock and roll!

i think if you did brown and fuschia you would have to add in some lighter pinks as well in your flowers, but i think it would be beautiful

I think pink/fuschia/brown is a great color combo.  Then again, I might be a little biased!  See by Bio (The Plan/Plan in Action) for pictures of just that combo.

I agree with Little Sweetie,  a darker fuschia and pewter would be a great combo, too!

Oooh! I REALLY like the idea of the fuchsia  and pewter. I feel like lots of people have done some variation of a pink and brown theme, but fuchsia and pewter seems a bit more new and fresh to me. I think a darker gray would be awesome too.

    Check this out:

I could totally see this whole look working with a darker gray too...which I think would give a more romantic/vintage look like you're looking for

I am so glad I asked this question!  I like all the suggestions, that marigold and fuschia is very pretty, so was the gold & fuschia.  I agree if you put brown in there that you'd have to put the light pink in there as well.  Aimee - Your wedding was beautiful and I like your colors!   It think I'm going to totally do those pomander balls for the ceremony and thanks for the directions, they seem pretty easy to do too! Were they?

But I have to say, I looooovvvee the fuschia/pewter idea!  Even though I thought the gold pics were pretty, silver has always been more my choice jewelry wise etc.  I thought about doing the fuschia/silver combo but  I really like the pewter idea so much better!  Thanks for that link Bimbi - I love it.

Yay so exciting!  One big decision out of they way!  I have a feeling I'm going to have so much stuff done/decided way early, lol as I'm totally a planner with everything.  Thanks again ladies!

Thank You! The pomanders were easy to do, they just took a lot of time.  I put each individual petal on one and a time....but I loved the overall effect, so it was worth it.  I of course, had my mother, aunt and best friend help in the process, so I wasn't going crazy myself! When you get to that point, if you don't want to make them, let me know.. />I still have them, and would be willing to make a deal! You can email me (<a href="mailto:jimandaim09@gmail.com">jimandaim09@gmail.com</a>) or contact me here.

And yes, Little Sweetie, just in the last few days, I've been able to post with my & symbol! So nice to be myself again! :)  Yay, Knot. I still hate the new format, but I hate it less now that I get to have my "real" name!!

Yay for posting with your & name :)

I also have bright pink pomanders that I'll be selling.  VERY tedious - I'd for sure buy if I had to do them again, otherwise make with fake flowers.  The folding/cutting was so tedious.

I think fuschia and pewter will look awesome!  I'm slightly biased... for our October 2 wedding we're having eggplant purple and pewter with some fuschia details since pewter flowers are tough to find.

I was planning on having the pomander balls for the ceremony, attached to the chairs, but now that I think about it I don't know if they will be able to not slip off the back of the chairs since they will be banquet chairs with covers on them.  Meaning the top of the chair backs are rounded...

Anyone know if they would work for these kinds of chairs?

We have a November wedding and Our colors are gold, berry (a smidge darker than fuschia) and moss green. I am doing tons of pomanders throughout the reception site- we have a damask and polka dot theme so I am playing off the "round" theme. LOVE these colors for fall! So crisp!

Cassie - Yay on the color theme, I'm excited that's what I ended up deciding on!  I took a look at your bio and see you decided on the gray BM dresses instead of fuschia.  What made you decide to do the gray?  I was originally thinking I wanted fuschia for the dresses but now I'm thinking the gray would come across more elegant.  Or I was thinking gray with some sort of fuschia accent whether it be a fushia belt/ribbon or something like that...

BTW, I saw that pic of the boquet toss deal years ago when I was helping my sister plan her wedding and I thought it was the coolest idea, I really want to do it too!

Munky - Your wedding theme sounds adorable, love polka dots!
