Re: Flash Mob Wedding

  • Maybe I'm weird, but flash mobs always make me cry.  But a wedding flash mob?  Help my Rhonda, I'm nearly bawling.

  • I've seen this video, and credit it for my realization that I am a total biitch--if I had been there, I have no doubt that I would have been one of the extremely annoyed people trying to get around that mess to finish my chores.

I am filled with hate and rage.

No worries Arwo, I'll come sit on that bench with you. I would probably be trying to get around them too.

I can't watch You Tube at work. But is this the one from the show with Howie Mandel where the guy proposes via flash mob and then it carries her over to her wedding and her family is there? If so I think that was awful. I would have said no and ran away if I was her.

Nope, this is one that starts off as a flash mob song, and transforms into a wedding.

It's not.  It starts off flash mob style with people singing and dancing to "Aint No Mountain High Enough" and then they sort of set up an aisle way and 2 very consenting and preplanning adults (he played keyboard for the song, she sang) get married.  She's rather pregnant.  There's even a chuppa and glass stomping at the end.

What you described would be annoying.

    'Cause you're short.

  • Kc, I hated that show. It made me so sad that THAT was her wedding. I mean, obviously a lot of work was put into it, but they didn't even put her in the dress all the way!

That must be it. Also, short people are filled with proportionally more hate and rage.  We're like neutron stars of hate and rage.

(I was going to start yelling about how I am not short, I'm average, but I checked on Wikipedia and I think I am definitely about an inch below average. Dammit.)

In the US, between 5'4'' and 5'4.5'' for full-grown women. I'm just a smidge under 5'4''.

(By smidge I mean half an inch.)

  • You girls are hilarious. I'm 5'4 but I still feel short sometimes, especially next to my BM who is 6'1.

Where can I find said proposal to wedding video? My Youtube searches have been unsuccessful.

  • Never mind, I found it!

I don't know how I would feel if THAT was my wedding. Probably really overwhelmed.  And how would that be legal? How would the show get a marriage license?

Maybe they had  "real" wedding with the rest of her family later??

  • I absolutely loved it, and it made me happy. I hope they're really married, though- at least in Minnesota, you have to have the declariation of intent "Do you, Sally, take Jim to be your husband?" for it to be legal!

I didn't cry, and I always cry, but it made me smile widely. I'm sure I would have bawled if I had been a passerby there.

They make me cry, TOO! The Sound of Music one in London made me cry. It made my mom cry, too. There must be something about all the effort and enthusiasm that gets me.

  • ...so they didn't want to pay for a venue so they annoyed a bunch of shoppers?  That's how I'm feeling about this, to be honest.

You just stand over with your "best friend" and be annoyed together.  :-)
  • Ok so I'm all choked up over here....I don't even know how I am going to hold it all together on the wedding day.

The FI and I went to obx this weekend and went by the beach house that we are getting married in front of and I started to get really teary-eyed b/c this was it...this was THE place the he and I will share our vowels and start our life together.  I have 5 mths to go and I'm only getting sappier by the minute
