Don't freak out...take a deep breath.

Just a heads up that I just got a call from Davis Entertainment. His warehouse was broken into and all his equipment was stolen so he will be unable to do my wedding. It is insured, but the insurance company won't be issuing a check for about a month, so...

I'm doing pretty well with it. What can you do, right? He's going to email me a few guys he knows that do it. He could rent equipment and still do my wedding, but that would cost around $700 just for the rental. He is sending me back my deposit with a letter explaining what happened. At least I still have 3 weeks, right? Can you imagine if this was the week of my wedding? I think at this point so many things have not gone according to plan that I don't even blink at them anymore.

BTW, FI still can't find his social security card and it is required in our county for getting the marriage license. It would take 6 weeks to get a replacement. I may end up going down there with what I have and begging  and pleading with someone. We'll see!

    That's terrible!  Way to keep a cool head about it, I might be throwing up, lol. I'm sure it will work out though, since your DJ is rec'ing some others for you.

    The SS card thing is a big old hassle too! I lost mine a loooong time ago and never got another one.  They are so easy to lose...I hope he finds his in time. They won't accept any other form of ID? That's ridic!

    Thanks Jody. With my wedding so far away hopefully he doesn't just say "F it" and end up not going back into business!

    But for YOU, UGH! I'm sure some of the other brides can make a recommendation and get you someone STAT that is good.

    Can you apply for a license in another county? Can you do it in either your county of residence or wedding location? I don't know the rules, so not sure.

    Will they take his passport instead? Maybe his pay stubs with his SS number on them? Anything? I think begging, pleading and groveling might help here.

    OH MY GOODNESS Jody I am so bummed that you are having to deal with all of this right now!!! What can we do to help? I haven't booked him yet and I was still debating the whole issue. Please let us know if we can do soemthing/anything to help. We will be sending good vibes your way.

    Thanks guys. It was pretty funny that FI was so relaxed about it too. When I told him, he was like, "Well maybe we can get a band instead." How funny he said that because we loved the band that played at a charity event a few months ago and I've been secretly thinking we should have gotten a band. So maybe it will all work out in the end.

    FI leaves tomorrow morning for Iowa for work til Thursday, so he may be able to head to the courthouse on Friday and give it a try. I'll keep you posted.
