I'm writing, eating dinner (I tried a new cheese tortellini recipe and it turned out awesome), and watching H play a video game. We're going to watch The Fourth Kind tonight and I think it's going to give me nightmares.

It's about aliens, and they use footage from actual case studies where people are supposedly possessed or something in their sleep. Just the pictures on the back of the movie give me the creeps. I admit, I kind of worry about alien invasions so this will likely lead to a week of nightmares. The movie better be worth it.

I just got back from the aquarium w/ Georgia and Sara. Now, I have an exciting night of knotting ahead of me.

The mosaicing I do for both fun/buisness. I do mostly mosaic mirrors, but also do a lot of things for children's rooms, custom backsplashes, etc...

Here's a mirror I did for a friend's baby, she loves giraffes, H loves elephants- this is pre-grouting, and the mirror's not in yet.

This one's a bird bath-

This one was another custom, abalone, semi precious stones, cathedral stained glass.

Got into it when I had to stop working as an event planner for health issues- I do a lot of pieces that I donate to charities, which I love!

I've also been doing a lot of honeymoon mirrors- people collect shells/stones/glass on their hm, and send them to me. I then use them along with whatever color glass they want to create a mirror for them. This always makes me happy.

I took classes for a while, and then a lot of it is trial and error. I used MDF as a base (usually), and if it's an indoor project, weldbond glue and sanded grout. The hardest thing is cutting the stained glass, but if he's not going to use any glass, it's pretty easy!

Hi lovelies

I went out with Scott and my parents to buy curtains for the dining room and ended up buying a black leather recliner and matching couch! We've been looking for the couch/chair for our living room ever since we got married but either never had the house or the funds or found one we like. We stopped into a store just for the heck of it and Scott fell in looove with the chair, to the point where he almost cried when I said I would think about it with our finances. Mom pulled me aside and said she would like to buy the chair as a house warming present and I figured out how we could afford the couch (with the help of the one day coming tax refund). We let him sweat it for about 3 more hours before we went back to the store and purchased them

We saved $400 off the price of the chair and $600 off the price of the couch, so huzzah!

Oh, and in perfect timing, we got a notice from the IRS saying our check is in the mail and should arrive in 10 - 14 days

Thanks so much! I'm going to mosaic all our votive holders for the tables once we have our colors set... they won't be the favors, but hopefully people will take them home, too!

I also do memorial pet portraits, there are some going up at the vet's office, and the proceeds go to the local animal shelter (I just get reimbursed for materials, not time).

(pitbull, whose favorite toy was a stuffed Mallard).

Although once that's paid off I think we'll go with a new washer.

But hey, at least now I have lots of seating for my house warming party!
