Days off?

For anyone who is taking their HM after their wedding date, how many days off are you requesting from work? Are you taking any days off before the date? If so how many?

For example, my wedding date is 3.10.12, and my HM is the week after, so obviously- I'll take 3/12-3/16 off. But I was wondering, is anyone taking any days off before their wedding date?

Our date is 3/3 and I am planning on taking off on 3/1 and 3/2. Our family will be here and I want to spend as much time with them as I can. I don't plan on taking off as much time as I'd like because I don't recieve PTO and March is a pretty busy month for the company I work for. We haven't decided on when/where the honeymoon will be but we are planning on doing it the following week of 3/12 so I will obviously be taking that time off as well.

Ahh, I see. Yea, I wanted to take off two days prior to ensure all the loose ends are tied. Plus, our RD is on that Thursday bc there is an event the day before. Plus, we have family coming in too. Ugh, I guess I'll be blowing through my vacation time at work basically all in one month!!

I am getting married on 3/10 too and I am taking the Friday before off and half day on Thursday along with the week after off.

Our wedding is 3/31 ~ I'll be off 3/28, 3/29 & 3/30..then I'll be off 4/2...we don't leave for our HM until 4/12....

I will be taking off 3/8 (maybe) and for sure 3/9. we get married on 3/10. The HM isn't until 3/17 so I will take that week off. I am toying with taking a half day on that Friday 3/16 to get my nails done again for the cruise.

My wedding is on march 31 and I am taking from the 27th of march to the 20th of April off from work - almost a month. Really though, I am only taking 9 days off from work because I get 5 days off before each 5 day set and 5 days off after. It seems like 5 days off in between each set is a lot, but I work 12 hour days, that's why. The days before my wedding that I have off are days I'm just off work normally. I didn't book them off or anything so it worked out well. I wasn't supposed to be back to work until the Monday.

FI and I are both teachers. I'm using my personal days to take off on 3/15, 3/16 and 3/19. FI has off 3/16 and 3/19. We can't take time off for our HM so we're going during Easter vacation 3 week after the weeding.

Our wedding is 3/24. I'm planning on taking 3/21-3/23 off before (maybe working from home on 3/20). We aren't going on a HM for a couple months, so I'll probably just take 3/26-3/29 off to visit with family that are still in town. I'm definitely hoarding my vacation days right now to make sure I had enough, though my boss basically told me I could call in 'sick' for any days I wanted to, as long as I used the word 'sick' in the email, it counts as sick time, not vacation time!

That's really cool! I should probably check with my boss to see if it would make a difference. I like, never take off more than 2 days at a time in the four years i've been here so I"m totally nervous about it!

My wedding is on a Friday - March 2. I'm taking off February 29 and March 1 (Wednesday and Thursday). I'm also taking the previous Friday off (Feb 24) for my Bachelorette party in Vegas. I'll go back to work for a week before I'm off for spring break, which is when we're going on our HM.

I am! My wedding is March 10th and we are flying out to Vegas on 3/7...so I took a half day Wednesday and all day Thursday and Friday off...I am a teacher and very lucky, so the whole next week I have paid off for spring break (of course I planned the whole wedding around that!) So I will be off for awhile and only have to use 2 1/2 of my own personal days.

I'm close to this Taking off 3/30 and 4/2. Leaving for the HM 4/16, so I'm going back to work for almost two weeks after the wedding.

We are 3/31 and Im taking March 28th-April 4th off. Wednesday-Wednesday. The beginning to get things together, and the after to clean up and relax with family and friends who are still here.

We will take two weeks in Sept for our honeymoon.

FI and I both get about 7 weeks of vaca a year.

I run my own business so I don't really have to take days off, but I do go to school...

I'm actually taking off the whole week before the wedding because I have a convention in Las Vegas (so, technically, that's really work-related). This is why we're doing the b-party and all that in Vegas the week before. Then we are heading to the cruise for the wedding on Sunday February 26th, and the cruise returns March 3rd. We are counting the time after our wedding as our "unofficial honeymoon" (our official one will come in the fall, probably). Then we will fly back to Vegas on the 3rd and start the drive home on the 4th. I plan to skip school on the 5th, too.

So, technically, we are missing two and a half weeks of work/school. But, again, we're self employed so it really doesn't matter.

My wedding will be on 3.16.12, which is a Friday, and I think I will two days before the wedding, plus the entire next week for my honeymoon. I'm very busy at work and I know I will need the extra two days to finish the final details before the big day!

My wedding is March 23rd so I'm taking off from March 22nd through April 6th. We will be leaving on March 25th for the honeymoon and coming back April 5th on a Thursday so then I'll still have three days home to relax before it's back to work on Monday

I'm getting married on March 3rd, and it's a destination wedding in New Orleans so I will be taking off Wed, Feb 29th thru Friday March 9th. We are driving down to New Orleans from Dallas so we are getting there early to make sure that everything is in order and to have the rehearsal and other get-togethers before the wedding. We are not technically having a honeymoon, we are just going to stay in NOLA for a few days by ourselves after the wedding instead.
