Happy Wednesday (And day before Turkey Day!)

Re: Happy Wednesday (And day before Turkey Day!)

• Baby Leah is so adorable... I want her! But y'know... Amber and Gary seem like crappy parents, so it might be for the best. How sad.

Anyway, good morning kids! I'm here at work all day. Can't complain, though, 4 day weekend starts tomorrow :)

• Oh yeah and I'm thankful for my amazing husband who tells me every day how much he loves me and that he feels lucky to have me, my family and my new in-laws, my friends who keep me sane at this job that is killing my soul, for my job that pays the bills even though it kills my soul, for my health. And I'm thankful for Modern Family and Dexter. And HDTV.

• Poor Leah. What's scary is none of this would have ever happened if it weren't caught on video tape and aired for the nation to see. Just think of how many kids are out there in situations twice as bad but never get the help they deserve because nobody is ever witness to it.

Oh yeah, thankfuls.

I'm thankful for everyone in my family's health, my new baby nephew Jared, my husband and our awesome wedding this year, my dog and cat being healthy and happy, and possibly finally getting out of our stupid house. Amen, dig in.

[QUOTE]Aw about Baby Leah. She's my favorite Teen Mom baby. I wonder if I can adopt her? I wanna make a hand turkey!! But I don't have a scanner close by. I'm working until probably about 2:30. We'll probably get official word that we can leave then. I'm off Friday. I'm undecided on shopping. I'm thankful for my husband who makes me laugh even when I'm mad at him; my parents, who are the best parents ever; for my MIL, who really is a great MIL; for my kids, who make my life whole; and for all my friends, who will never really know just how important they really are to me. AND sweet potato casserole (with brown sugar and pecans, NOT marshmallows) and dressing. And the show Raising Hope.

I love this show. Yesterday's episode was hilarious.

• I agree Stacks. It's really sad.

I also think about the living situation Leah was in before Amber started beating up on Gary. I feel so bad for the kids that live in homes where the parents verbally abuse each other and the children, but nothing can be done because it never truly becomes "physical." They live in loveless, trashy homes and there's nothing anyone can do.

The article did say that Leah is still living with Gary, so that's better than foster care IMO. The original article I read said that they think the state might have seen a few things in Gary's home that needed to be fixed, so they officially made Leah a ward of the state so she would have the services required to make those fixes. However, she's still better off in his home than a random foster home. Amber could technically file for custody, but there's a slim to none chance of that working since she's being investigated herself by CPS.

I'm honestly glad that Indiana CPS is doing something. Granted, it might not have come to this if it hadn't been on national television and the pressure they're probably feeling from people to do something about it, but it's good nonetheless.
• Thanks, emily! :)

Well, I've got New Girl all set up at the front desk and I'm now officially waiting until 5:00 (or until someone tells me to go the hell home lol). My login to the computer system was cancelled but I know the password for one of the default accounts, so I'm just killing the rest of the day in an empty office in the back of our suite. Whee!

I think we're going to go out and get some booze later and have a Happy Hour in the office, since we all need to be here until 5 anyway. Woo!

Raising Hope has become my favorite show. Not only is the dialogue hilarious, but all the little details are great. Like Barney's Paula Deen apron. Hilarious. Virginia is my favorite.
• AK, I can't think of a longer day to get through. The day before a holiday AND the last day at a crappy job where I have nothing to do. I would sneak off at lunch and get a sode from a gas station and put a little Rum in it or something! ;-)
• Haha Birdie that's not a bad idea. I figure I'll lurk on TK all day, I've been calling all of the Wal-Marts in town trying to figure out how many of those computers they'll have in stock on Friday so I know which one to go to (of course, they won't tell me). I'm stalking my SS package that should be delivered to my person today (eee!) and basically screwing around online. I'll definitely take a long lunch though. :)

She's my favorite too. She just cracks me up with her whole, Jimmy likes to remind us of how terrible we were as parents, but he turned out fine. I do feel bad for the things Cloris Leachman has to do for her character. Like the shaving cream thing yesterday. It has become one of my favorite shows as well.

• I have no work or class today, so my son and I are just chillin. Probably going to shampoo the carpets and start rearranging furniture for the tree on Friday. We're going to his grandfather's for Thanksgiving and then our son is going to his mom's for Thanksgiving there. Aside from a buttload of homework, that's about all I'll be doing. I am so thankful for my FI and our son and the wonderful family we have, and the fact that I graduate in May!
