DJ Advice

Hi.  We're between two DJs at the moment.  Chris Garrow from Unforgettable DJs and Elite Sounds (Austin would be our DJ).  Both companies have great reviews, but I was wondering if anyone had any experience withthe MCs form Elite Sounds.  Do they use a "radio" voice?  Does anyone have experirnece specifically with Austin as the DJ?  My FI really liked them a little more than Unforgettable DJs, so I just want to check.

Also, my other concern with Elite Sounds is it sounds like they may be setting up right around the time of our ceremony (which he said he would not and would talk to the venue about timing, etc.  Made it sound like he would bring stuff in right before ceremony, and then set up during the cocktail hour which is fine with me).  Our ceremony is at 4, and we don' need the DJ until 6pm, so I get why he wouldn't want to be there hours beore he's needed, Is that normal for them not to be there before the ceremony if they're not needed until the reception?

I have been to a wedding where Elite Sound was the DJ (although it wasn't Austin).  They were great, they kept the dance floor going all night.  I honestly didn't even eat i was dancing so much! (Plus the food wasn't that good)  I always recommend them to people because even though that wedding had the worst food ever!  it was one of the best weddings I have ever been to because of Elite Sound.  Okay, sorry I totally sound like a vendor....haha   I just really liked them!

Oh and totally normal for them to want to set up during that time.  They don't need much time at all to set up so setting up  during your cocktail hour should work our perfectly.

We're using Unforgettable DJs and we just keep hearing the best things about them. Luckily, our guy is very familiar with our wedding venue, so he knows how to connect his stuff already and will be doing it during the engagement party (quickly!). You should find out which dj is more familiar with your venue because you may be able to get a discount or they may be better able to communicate with the other vendors there.

    we used elite sound...
our ceremony was in a church, so i'm not sure what time they got there, nor was i in the cocktail hour, but they had their own little set up for the cocktail hour
and they were already set up in the main ballroom during the cocktail hour, so i'm not sure when they got it all set up or what time they got there
we had mike p as our dj, and i don't know/remember who our mc was, but i'll tell you that our mc didn't say anything, and i'm not sure why he was there, our dj did all the announcing and everything...don't think it sounded radio voice like, he sounded like a dj

but, he was fantastic, the dance floor was packed all night and he played what we wanted and everyone said how great they all were....

so, i would def reccomend them
