Has anyone ever stayed at Bill's Gamblin Hall? I wasn't planning to take a scouting trip (I know, risky considering I have never been to Vegas!) but my Mom desparately wants to do one. I'd like to stay as close to mid-strip as possible. Our ceremony is at Caesar's, reception at Maggianos - so we will want to visit both places.
We really dont want to spend a lot of money though and are getting frustrated at not finding cheap hotel deals! The cheapest I have found is at Bills, and the location seems great!! But my mom is very hesitant as she has not heard of it before. Thoughts??
The only other one we found for a really low rate was Imperial Palace.
Any other hotel suggestions to look at?
Re: Bill's Gamblin Hall - Scout Trip
It's definitely not luxurious...did you try the Monte Carlo? i know someone recently booked a scouting trip and saw they had pretty good deals there. I've stayed at Luxor b4 and it was cheap and OK but I don't even think I'd stay there again unless I had too....But again I am picky and there a number of hotles no matter how low my budget that I would probably not stay at, Bill's, CircusCircus, Imperial, Hooters...just to name a few lol. Try Luxor, Monte Carlo or Excalibur if you can....
If you go to the hotels websites and sign their guestbook, they will email you deals, also going to smartervegas.com will find you some deals.
Imperial Palace is usually pretty cheap and the rooms are just your basic run of the mill rooms. Flamingo rates arn't too bad. Both of those are midstrip on the opposite side of Caesers, next to Bill's. Luxor and Excaliber are cheap but they are at the south end of the strip.

Comprable prices for a bit of a nice hotel would probably be Bally's or Flamingo. Both are older but they are still a few levels up from Bill's IMO
You can't go wrong with the location of Bill's and IP. My complaint of the IP is the rooms are way back and is kind of a pain to get to. Bills is simple and small so you're in and out quick.
Also, when are you going? There will be a huge bridal show in Jan at MGM.
We are looking at the weekend of Jan 15-18, so that I can leverage my day off of work for MLK day and only take 1 vacation day. I know the bridal show is the following weekend though which would be cool to be able to coincide with!
We are playing around with various dates for flight and hotel deals, so we'll see what happens. I'll check out rates at some of the other hotels you girls have mentioned. Thanks!!
I've never stayed at Bills but Im a huge fann! They are in a perfect location!
When I last went to Vegas for a girls weekend, we stayted at PH...we went to a Lady Gaga concert at The Palms, went to an afterparty at ghOstbar and then went up to Prive inside PH. When we got back to our room and put on sweats and laid in bed...all we could think about was Bills Margaritas and Burger King cheeseburgers. We decided to walk down to Bills and then to O'Sheas for some BK...even in Vegas, sometimes you need the basics : )
I admit I am a hotel snob! Sometimes I try to be budget concious though!

Yep and you're also an a$$hole!
[QUOTE]I love staying at Bill's for a few reasons. The location is perfect, it's very clean... and definitely a great price. It's a smaller hotel but the rooms are large with comfy beds. I think the biggest reason I love staying there is the fact that I can go from my room to outside on the strip in 2 minutes... and I don't get lost in the casino!! I have a terrible sense of direction and get lost almost everywhere I go... lol

This.
[QUOTE] No one here listens to me about registering for the casino's players cards, lol.

I love my players club card. I get so many freebees and deals. It's helped me stay at nicer hotels that are usually out of my budget.

I have never stayed at Bill's before so I can't comment.
The Monte Carlo is a little worn around the edges but is usually a good little hotel at a great price in a central location.
I'm not a fan of the IP.
I've been to Bally's and their rooms were very standard so if it is a standard price, you are fine.
If you stay at the Flamingo be sure to request the tower rooms.
Also, I stayed at Hooters when it was the San Remo. It was an average hotel with a good price WITH great proximity to a concert at the MGM.
Also, you may want to look into some of the "Station" hotels.
I don't like Circus Circus because it is way too family friendly for me.
You may want to look into some of the non-casino hotels as well. Marriott, Hilton, Embassy Suites, etc. They may have room deals.
Oh, speaking of Hilton. If you can get a deal at the Las Vegas Hilton (The Elvis Hilton) you can stay there. It's out of the way BUT if you get a monorail pass it's the same as being midstrip because you can just monorail it to mid strip. It stops at Sahara and Riviera too...Notoriously cheap hotels.
I miss the Boardwalk. Fantastic location with awesome prices AND Purple Reign used to play there every weekend. Half crap tables. Awesomeness.
Now with more wedded bliss.
I don't get married often, but when I do, I do it in Las Vegas.

There's been a whole bunch of crap started from some posts on E and the May 2011 board.

Yep what direy25 said and mainly because she was arguing with a chick on E and instead of hashing out her point intelligently and logically she made a rude comment on the chick's physical appearance. That crosses a line and puts her firmly in the as$hole category in my book.

And then aegrish made a thread saying, "I was mean and don't care!!" which was pretty tactless. I don't have sides in this but that was kind of a weird thing to do if you ask me.
[QUOTE]Plus I have bangs too so screw her!

But smokey, bangs are soooo outdated!! No wonder you brought up Tiffany in that other thread! Oh wait, I have them too...
[QUOTE]Dude that chick's bangs were bad. Sorry.

Wait, who's were bad? Aegrish made fun of emilyinchile's bangs over on E...

I've heard so much about these illusive bangs!

That wasn't even germane to the argument.

And your response was?

I didn't attack someone's physical apparance in furtherance of a point I was trying to make. Her bangs had nothing to do with aegrish's lack of etiquette knowledge.
