Can't find a venue that I like

This is my first post-I need help finding a venue for our wedding. I really don't care where it is but the fiance wants it close by so his elderly grandmother can attend (thats a whole other issue). We were thinking Eastern Shore but I can't find anything that appeals to me. We want a small wedding with about 20 guests-just immediate family and a few friends. It has to be outside. I want something that has a garden because I am going for a romantic English country garden theme. I want to do the ceremony and reception at the same place.

Any ideas? Thanks

Are you interested in a bed & breakfast venue? I think the Brampton Inn ( http://www.bramptoninn.com/weddings.html ) would be a really good fit for what you are describing. Mr. LK and I have stayed there, and we are completely enchanted with it. The building, the grounds, the service... all impecable.

We decided to get married in a venue that allowed for a slightly larger guest count, the Inn at 202 Dover in Easton ( http://www.innat202dover.com/index.htm ), and we could not be happier with our decision.

You can also check out other B&Bs on bedandbreakfast, com and bbonline.com. Both of these were really useful to me when we were venue hunting.

My best friend got married at the Historical Society in Talbot County a few years back and it was beautiful. Small garden setting and you could have the reception right there or possibly at a restaurant nearby. It's in downtown Easton which is really cute. Good luck!

What about Ann Marie Gardens in Solomons (Calvert) or an cute tea room with garden (My favorite is Cafe Anglais in Frederick - adorable garden in the back)?

A B&B sounds like a great option for the wedding size you are talking about. I can't think of any names offhand, but I've definitely seen some Maryland B&Bs that offer special packages for small weddings.

We are getting married at the Am Kolel Sanctuary & Retreat in Montgomery County. It may be more rustic than what you're looking for, but there is room for 24 overnight guests and ample grounds.

have you tried looking at any of the Historical Houses in maryland?  Im having my wedding and reception at Oxon Hill Manor. Its a beautiful Mansion that has a reflection pool holding rooms for the bride and groom and parents and minister, and the most amazing garden!! they provide tables and chairs and your allowed to have a licensed cater for your food.

Liriondendron in Bel Air might be a nice option
