Band and DJ?

Hi, I was wondering if anyone has ever had a band and a DJ for their reception. How did it work out? Which DJ did you use?

We were thinking of having the band play the first half, and the DJ take over for the rest of night. Thoughts?

    I went to a wedding that had both (the bride may chime in here!) and it was fun.  The band (which was not a standard wedding band) and the DJ switched on and off all night.  I thought it was a great compromise.  I'm not a huge fan of wedding bands because even the really good ones don't do any justice to a lot of the modern songs that I would love to dance to, so we got to hear the real versions of those.

    This band does both as its standard package.  They're called Garden State Radio. I was really intrigued by their ad. I've since done a little digging, and they're really well reviewed.
