CO Springs Venues and Photographers

Working on getting the two big decisions out of the way. We have looked at a lot of venues ranging from Manitou to Monument, from local parks, to hotels, even a pirate restaurant. I am wondering if anyone else can give me any more ideas of somewhere to look.
For a venue we are trying to keep it as cheap as possible because we have large families so an inevitably large guest list. No more than $40/head.

As for a photographer, I am looking for the best quality for the cheapest price.  I had a photographer in mind, duvaldigital.com, they are fantastic but they are booked on my day :(.  I am a photographer myself so I am picky. I want someone who is very knowledgable and can work in any lighting conditions, I'm not concerned with special effects as long as they are good quality pictures. Also, it must be a 2 photographer team, or at the very least a photographer and an assistant.
For photographers, I don't want to spend more than $2000. Please give me some reccommendations! I am sick of looking. Thank you!

We are going with the Lodge at Cathedral Pines. It's in Black Forest but is so affordable. You bring in your own catering so you pretty much control pricing for everything. For the lodge it's $1100. It's gorgeous too!

We were married at Cheyenne Canon Inn.  It's an historic B&B, and wonderful.  The owners are great to deal with.  Because it's a private residence, you can hire any vendors you want, and can bring in your own beer/wine/liquor if desired.

Very affordable - we got the entire Inn for 24 hours (including all 10 guest rooms overnight) for less than 4 hours at Briarhurst Manor would have cost.

Thanks for the tips guys! Unfortunately neither one worked out. The Lodge is already booked on our day and apparently Cheyenne Canon Inn is closed permenantly. :(

Check out Zack Girson of Zudio Photography & Design. My FI is a cinematographer, so he's very picky as well. We both love his work, and he's great quality for a great price. Check out his stuff at http://www.thezudio.com/

We also loved the work of April O'Hare, but she wasn't available for our date. ]

I don't know when you wedding is, but the hillside gardens nursery is really pretty if you are thinking about an outside ceremony and depending on what time of year. If you need a cater then picnik basket is a really cheap way to go that looked like high quality. Another for an outside ceremony is the secret garden nursery. It's kinda expensive, but beautiful! Good luck

My fiance and I are having our reception at the Sundance Mountain Lodge in Monument. They have some packages starting around $35 per person. The reception room is gorgeous, and the coordinator up there (Jennifer) is amazing to work with.

Also, our photographer is Box Five. They were recommended to us by a friend so I was leary at first, but they are fantastic and we loved how our engagement pictures came out! They have two packages below $2,000 depending on what you need.

    Congratulations and good luck!

She's super talented AND affordable and she knows what she's doing! She always brings an assistant... she shot my friend's wedding and exceeded her expectations by FAR! She does Colorado Springs and Denver I believe...

We were married at Doolittle Hall on the Air Force Academy base. You don't have to be military to use it and we were very happy with it. The only thing you can't bring in is your own alcohol, so that was pretty pricey.

For photographers, I can't recommend Nic and Tracy with Real Photography enough. We still get raves about our pictures a year and half later, they are amazing!

The Margarita at PineCreek in Colorado Springs is beautiful during the Spring and Summer. And you can do both the ceremony and reception there.  The outdoor area is pretty large, can hold 135 and that way you don't have to pay to close down the resturant. They run 27-33 dollars a head.
