I think having one is a must!  I am using Amira Gaynor as my Day of Coordinator.

We just hired a DOC! At first I didn't think we'd need one, but then I just kept of things that needed to get done the day of and I started to get stressed out. I'm so glad we hired ours. If you're at least thinking about it, I'd suggest at least meeting with someone to go over everything they will do for you. I have our DOC's website address in my bio under 'Vendors'

I really wanted to have one, because I know I'll be stressing about all of the details.  It wasn't in our budget though, so I asked a good friend if she would do it.  I chose the only friend I could think of who would be as detail oriented and OCD about everything as I would be.  As a thank you, we'll be inviting her and her husband to the rehearsal dinner, and giving her a Thank You date basket.

Honestly I think this was one of our best investments. I keep thinking of all my to dos and while I have no problem working on stuff up until that day - come Oct 9th the only thing I want to think about is marring Joe - not if the programs are going to make it to the church :). I am also a worrier so this will relieve some of my anxiety with is totally worth it for me. We went with Sarah from Lasting Impressions as we really clicked with her after our first meeting.

I did, and I don't know how I could have pulled off my wedding without one!  I used Kirsten from fab.you.lous event design + coordination.  Seriously best decision I ever made in planning my wedding!

Hands down the BEST decision I made, especially with a destination wedding. Julie from, Fabulous Functions (http://www.fabulousfunctions.com), was and is amazing. She pulled the whole thing together for us. She put together the whole reception room, I left it a hotel room and came back to a very personalized Vegas reception! And for everyone who is worried about a budget, just talk to her!! I know she has discounts for a number of different organizations, industries and people. –She is worth it!

Definitely agree with drdifabio! FI teases me all the time for what a big stress magnet I am! I'm too hands on and OCD to hand over all the planning to a wedding coordinator, but day of I don't want to have to be sweating the small stuff and I really don't want to ask my family to be setting stuff up, either. We hired Kirsten from fab.you.lous events

Kirsten was the best value for her price that I found. I only found two cheaper and one, based on reviews, I was tentative about using and the other one was only $50 cheaper for the whole day and was not nearly as assertive or offered as many services as Kirsten.

Donna at Diamond Event Planning is one my mom's close friends, and she's going to be our coordinator. I'm not sure what her standard prices are, but I'm sure they're really reasonable! She met with us for a pre-planning meeting and was amazing. She had so many ideas but was really flexible and made sure my ideas were used.

If you decide to contact her, let her know that Sarah referred you :)

We had an event planner, and I think I was SHOCKED at how affordable the whole thing was!  PLUS, if you find a planner with GREAT relationships they can save you THOUSANDS of dollars and 'bury' their cost within their budget anyhow!

    I would definately recommend one!
There are awesome planners at all differnt price ranges here:

when my friend had her wedding she had a DOC who didn't really do anything and halfway through she asked the DOC to leave. The DJ was actually handling most of it. That's one of the reason's we hired them.
