Wedding for just the 2 of us - Maui

Hello! We have decided that we want to get married in Maui  - just the 2 of us. We would like to get married at sunset and of course nothing big. Any suggestions for a place for a very small ceremony? Thanks All!!

    Hi-

Congratulations! We are doing something similar to you in May. Jim and I will have five friends with us, but still very small.  We will be getting married on the beach at Makena Cove and then making reservations at a nice restaurant. I was told that if you opted for the sunset ceremony, it would be too late to catch a dinner cruise or luau.

There's a lot of great beaches! And the only cost to you is the permit to use public space!  I used the site to take a look through beach options. They have good photos to give you an idea of what it would look like:

I actually chose to have this company handle the planning.

Good luck with whatever you choose to do!  It's been very low stress for me so far, which has been fantastic!

We are also getting married on Maui, just the 2 of us. In fact, 2 days after you, Elisabeth, if your bio is correct!  We are probably doing Makena Cove as well, but our officiant suggested we make a day out of going to several beaches a couple days before our wedding. Our photographer suggested Kapalua Bay (in part because it's close to where we are staying - Ka'anapali). Elisabeth, where are you staying? We might run into you along the way somewhere!

We're actually renting a condo for the week up in Lahaina!  Staying in a neighborhood called Puamana.  That is one drawback to being married at Makena Cove, since it's on the south part of the island, but in the end, I just thought it'd be worth it.  Maybe we will get to run into each other!

There are so many great beaches in Maui that you can get married at.  Since it is just the two if you, Makena Cove would be a great venue!  It is a great private beach but it is pretty small though, so if there is another couple getting married there you would have to share the space.  Kapalua Bay is also a great beach.  It's a little bigger so there might be more "people/beach-goers" there, BUT you could then have your "reception dinner" at Merriman's (which is right next door)!  :)

Secret Beach in Wailea is also a good spot!
