Beyond the HM, do you and your FI have any vacations/trips planned for the rest of the year?

My FI's mom's side always does a week in a port city about 3 hours from where we live the week after July 4th. We'll go up to see everyone probably for 3 days (instead of the week) to just catch up with people, talk about the HM, and still be able to go back to work.

ETA: There's also a conferences in New Orleans in November that I may go to and Chris may join me pending if he can get it off of work since he's never been there.

We have a few ideas for weekend getaways planned. Columbus for a Crew game, Indiana for a concert and Brown County because it's awesome.

We don't have anything planned after the honeymoon. If we were to go somewhere, it would only be a weekend away somewhere a few hours from the house.

Does 2013 count? We want to go to Disney World in 2013! Nothing else is planned for 2012 though.

nothing planned for the rest of the year but we've both decided that once the wedding and honeymoon are paid for we are saving for one of our dream vacations... Hawaii or Austrailia

I've done Australia 4x and my advice is make it at least 2.5-3 weeks because you will lose the best part of 4 days traveling there and back. Also, it is worth your while to do Sydney and then up to Cairns to the Great Barrier Reef. Ahhh...I love Aussie!

As far as the QOTD - no trips planned for us other than probably visiting my brother and SIL in VA and his mom in GA at some point.

We have our annual lake and beach trips. My cousin is getting married in August so we'll be at that. Instead of Christmas presents, my parents decided we're just going to do trips so I think we're doing a cruise for New Year's this year.

We are going to Chicago in August for a friend's wedding. We are also planning on taking a ski trip out west next winter though I don't know if that will end up being before the new year or not.

We'll probably do at least a weekend up to Vermont but beyond that I'm not sure.

We are planning a family trip for August. Since Carter isnt going on the HM we thought it would be fun to go on a mini vaca in August as a family. Carter's favorite place in the world is "the big bucket" aka a waterpark hotel in Wisconsin Dells. We will do a long weekend there. I am excited!!

We are also planning a big family vacation with my parents and brother for June 2013 to California and DISNEYLAND!!!

Us too!!

We are hoping to go to DC in October, the week of my birthday. But it will probably a long weekend kind of thing.

And I'm hoping to be able to go to WI for Christmas...I haven't been in 2 years, but it may not work out.

FI still has 3 weeks of vacation to use up. He's been at his job 10 years, so he gets like 5 weeks a year!

Since this is my first year working, I only get one week of vacation, which I technically don't get until the Monday we get back from the honeymoon, but my boss doesn't care as log as I report it at some point. So, the only thing we can do is a weekend trip somewhere close, and I doubt that'll happen. Next year we're going over to Mali Losinj, Croatia, where his grandfather has a house. I'm super excited because it looks like a gorgeous place!

Nothing really else planned this year. Might travel for Christmas. We have been wanting to go up in October to Montana to participate in FI's family farm harvesting. However, I really want to save money up for a big vacation to Europe. We will see what happens.

Well, I'm going to Charleston this weekend for my cousin's b-party and then Savannah in June for my b-party and I definitely count those as vacations!

Besides the honeymoon, FI and I, along with my fam are going up to (Cooperstown) New York in August to visit my grandparents.

My parents are also talking about going on a cruise over Christmas, but I'm not a fan of cruises, so we'll see....

Midge, the TV show The Middle talks of Brown County being awesome all the time and they "live" in Indiana. Is that the same place you're talking about? So it's real, then?

We have a wedding in Boston in May, then another one in Springfield IL in September. We plan on spending a few extra days in Boston and a few days in Chicago before the Springfield wedding.

I'm going to Disneyworld in 2013 with a friend-FI isn't invited

Let's see:
May - we booked a week at a resort so we can have some "quiet" time. I'm hanging in the spa and he's playing golf.

August - Wedding in Greene so we're travelling for that.

December - Barbarbados for our (very) late HM and my sister's wedding.

We're not even going on our HM until 2013! FI doesn't get a ton of time off from work, so we're using it sparingly - and he'll have used a few days already for the wedding when it comes to that. Hopefully we can at least have a couple small weekend getaways, or at least "stay at home and do nothing" days, but we'll see. Nothing is planned yet!

We'll probably spend a couple weekends at the Jersey shore. We might go visit some of my family in Virgina Beach as well.

Nothing is set in stone yet, but if both FI and I can get off work, we really want to go to NYC for New Year's this year. But we will see. If FI ends up getting a job with an airline instead of working for an airport, we will probably have a bunch of weekend getaways since we'll be able to fly for free.

We have a couple of trips right after the wedding. When we get back for the Domincan Republic ( Wedding and Honeymoon), My FI has to work in PA for two weekends so the weekend after we return we will start those trips. The third weekend after the wedding/honeymoon we have to go to North Carolina my closest cousin would have had her baby and we are going to visit.

Our First year anniversary has already been paid for as a wedding gift we are going to Hawaii.

We're not sure when we will be going on a HM yet, mostly because we are already taking 2 weeks off for the wedding, and then another 2 weeks in January to go to Australia for his brother's wedding. We might get a HM somewhere in the middle or on the way to Aus though. We haven't been back to Aus in 4 years!! Can't wait!!

Other than that, probably just some short trips out of Vancouver during the summer.

My BFF from nursing school is getting married on the beach in Norther MI in August, and we're planning a nice weekend getaway for that! We'll probably also go camping at some point. With the HM, I'm using up all my time off at work, so any other trips have to be short ones!
