Hi,
I wanted to come on and introduce myself.
I just got engaged. We have set adate but that is all. I always wanted an autumn wedding. We are waiting until 2011 to have the time to set it up the way we want it.
I have listed my wedding in Detroit but I am not sure that's where we are going. I live in Lansing and we may stay around Lansing or go towards Grand Rapids.
Are there any good suggestion for really pretty venues with an outdoor wedding in mind?

I know its early but do you have a budget in mind? That will help with suggestions! Also the board is a lot busier during the week so you may see more responses tomorrow.

As for a budget we feel very blessed. I can't give an exact limit but we can probably consider most venues. I've been to Mac and Ray's years ago but it's not what I'm looking for. But we could afford something on that scale if need be.
I would prefer something with a lot of trees to show the colors of the season.

Welcome to the boards! What about the alumni chapel at Michigan State? Or just various places on campus for pictures would be beautiful with all the fall colors. Happy planning!

Congrats!!

I got engaged almost a year ago and we wanted to wait for a fall wedding -- and now ours is quickly approaching... We are getting married at The Meeting House in Plymouth and we are planning to have our ceremony outdoors in Kellogg Park in downtown Plymouth. (we will have the ceremony indoors at our reception venue in case of bad weather) The hall is beautiful and I fell in love with it when I attended the wedding as a guest, it was the only place we looked at when we got engaged.
