I need a bridesmaid dress fast!

Anyone know how I could get a Mori Lee size 16 Fuschia bridesmaid dress style 244 fast?  The only places I've found ship in 6 weeks...wedding is in 6 weeks.  Anyone know any websites or people who are looking to sell this dress?

  • Have you checked Ebay?  It will often have BM dresses in just about every size, shape, color and designer.

  • What about putting a rush on them?
  • Is the problem the dress size, or do you not have one at all?  If it's size, it can probably be altered.
  • If the color/style in the shops is the one you need, maybe you can buy the sample?

Try contacting netbride.com, rkbridal.com and pearlsplace.com as well to see if you can do a rush order.

Also check the Trash To Treasure board on the Nest, and Craigslist.

  • WoreItOnce.com has bridesmaid dresses too.  If you google "used bridesmaid dresses," I'm sure you'll find more sites.  Would you be able to pay extra for rush fees?

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
  • Wait, so you do have a dress?  If I'm reading that right, find a private seamstress.

There may be enough fabric in the seams to let the dress out by 1-2".  Look into adding a corset back if the top is the part that's too tight.  If neither of those is an option, see if there's a short BM who had her dress hemmed.  You might be able to use the extra fabric to insert panels at the seams of the dress.
  • If you just need extra fabric to have it let out, look on eBay for ANY Mori Lee fuschia dress in the right fabric, and give that to your seamstress to use for extra panels.  Or see if you can find a wrap, jacket, etc. in the right fabric.

Check your local board for seamstress recommendations in your area.
