Should I double book?

IF we have a small number of RSVPs we can do the vista suite

IF we have a large number we can do Orleans or a sit-down dinner somewhere...

So, do you think it would be best to double book and then release one when I know the final number tally?

Is that even possible?

I would say go for it! Make sure you understand both cancellation policies ...but most places seem to have a 72 hour thing..so I would say why not! ^_^

I am considering doing the same thing.  I booked Il Fornaio in NY NY but if our guest list gets too large I may have to change to PF Chang's, Maggianos, Cheesecake Factory or Cafe Lux.

I figure I at least have one place already and we can make changes if need be to the venue at a later date.

I say go for it. :-)

I am pretty sure Vista suite has same cancellation policy as any other hotel room. But they do take a deposit of, I think, 1st night's rate.

I'm not sure the cancellation policy of Orleans.

I say if you are able to cancel without penalty, and you have the money now to put down deposits, then go for it.

Ditto PP. Do it as long as you won't lose too much $ if you cancel.

We double-booked for about a week...during that time, we settled on the suite we wanted. With a full refund of our deposit, it was no big deal to double-book, so go for it! Our deposit was returned to us within 2 to 3 days.

Oh, and Mandalay Bay returned our whole deposit with no problems. They only asked why we were cancelling...and we were honest and told them that PH had lower rates.
