Not a Catholic, but I grew up in the United Methodist church and we observe Lent as well.
I'm not really "giving up" anything, but my two goals are to put twice as much money from each paycheck into my savings, and not leave dirty dishes in the sink overnight. .
I did soda last year and actually kept it going through September (I gave in on the HM)

I was skimming through responses and this just jumped out at me.
I would do soda, but its is how I am surving school between late nights and migraines. I mostly fear the migraines coming and not being about to fix them.
I am going to moderate my TV/ computer time (I am procrastinating toooo much with it.)
Love is like infinity: You can't have more or less infinity, and you can't compare two things to see if they're "equally infinite." Infinity just is, and that's the way I think love is, too.

I feel like I've given up a bunch already with the pregnancy stuff. So this year I think I'll add something, I'm going to try to read & study the gospel of Luke. Since this is the year in the liturgical calendar that the catholics and episcopals (I'm not sure who else) are reading Luke.
Last year I gave up alcohol and this year I am giving up caffeine. With giving up caffeine comes great sacrifice... Coffee, Soda, Tea and Chocolate. I have tried this 3 years ago and first week was hell... Massive Headaches.. Needless to say I failed

Yes, I know, I'm really 15.
I'm not giving anything up. I'm going to try to do good deeds. Not that I don't normally try, but try much harder.

We're having tacos tonight, so I guess we're not doin meatless Ash Wednesday or Fridays.
I've become increasingly worse at Lent since marrying the Baptist.
