Bellagio Buffet for reception??

First time writing a post here.. my wedding is going to be at the Bellagio Fountains on July 1st... I can not wait! I am on a serious budget. I have made everything by hand.. my hair piece birdcage veil, garter belt, bouquet, boutiners and corsages...invitations and cake. The only thing I bought was my dress.. so anyways my fiance and I love buffets... do you think its strange to have a wedding dinner/lunch at a buffet?? Ee are having a small wedding...about 10 guest's. Has anyone ate there... is it as great as the reviews and does anyone know if there is a seperate secluded space there for my party??     I just wanted to say congrats and welcome to the board!  There have been some brides on here who have had their receptions and also meet & greets at a buffet. 

    Wicked Spoon at the Cosmopolitan has a private room, but I believed there is an F&B minimum you must meet.  I don't have any specific information about the Bellagio buffet, but hopefully someone else does. 

    Oh, and we would love to see some photos of your DIY projects.  It souds like you've been busy!

    Welcome. Sorry, I don't have anythign to say about Bellagio either, but would love to see pics - and hear what other people have to say about the buffet! How exciting for you, not long now!!

    I'm having my reception for 45 people at the Le Village Buffet at the Paris, so obviously I think it's a great idea!  I like the idea that everyone can choose what they want for dinner.  

    I got quotes from most of the high end hotel buffets on the Strip, let me look through my old emails and see what my Bellagio one was.  I'm pretty sure it was on the expensive side, and may not have included a private area.  Since your party is so small, I'd be really surprised if you could find a private room at a buffet for them.

    Bellagio is my #2 favorite buffet in Vegas, right after Wicked Spoon at the Cosmopolitan.  It's fantastic.  I think a reception there, particularly for a party of your size, would be perfect-- buffets are quinessential Vegas!

    The private room at Wicked Spoon seats 50 and depending upon the night, I think the F&B minimum can be as low as $1,500 but if you have 10 guests then obviously thaty doesn't make too much sense.

    The only other buffet I know of that has smaller private rooms (for a fee) is The Paris buffet, which is also great (though I think Bellagio's is better!).

    OK, I found my old Bellagio email (from last November) and they only do VIP reservations for the buffet for groups of 20 or more.  Below is the basic sentence explaining their rules.  Private Message me with your email address if you want me to send you the entire breakdown, with prices and other info.  I can also give you the name of the coordinator who I was corresponding with.  

    VIP Event Reservations are designed to give parties of 20 or
    more the ultimate experience at the buffet and offers all-inclusive
    packages that are priced per person. Your party will not have to
    wait our legendary line and will be escorted to your preset table
    by a Buffet Manager. These packages are tailored for wedding
    receptions or other special events and can be personalized with
    many of our wonderful upgrades. Reservations include a two-
    hour dining period and are held for one hour. Additional dining
    time may be added on a per person, per hour basis. Reservations
    will be taken on a first come, first served basis. Please contact
    the Buffet Event Manager at (888) 987-7111 extension 8112 to
    arrange your next event.

    Welcome to the board!  Congrats!

    The Bellagio buffet is great, even though the lines can be very long.

    My obligatory ettiquette post... please make sure to host (pay for) your guests.  Even though it's a buffet, it's very important to treat them for travelling to your wedding.

    I'm not saying you weren't planning to host... just had to throw it out there. :)

    That's the thing.  Just because people WOULD probably shell out the money, you still want to thank them.  Especially since in a lot of cases, people are missing work, paying for flights, paying for hotels, bringing a gift...!  Spending $30 (or more) per person is not that big of a deal in return.  :)

    hmm.  It might be possible that you can rent out the small room for 10-15 people, but maybe for a higher room charge.

    I don't know anything about private dining, but I ate at the Bellagio Buffet last weekend.  It was tasty -  piles of fresh king crab legs, snow crab legs, shrimp cocktail, salad bars, sushi bar, pasta station  (which I discovered too late after I had already gorged on beef tenderloin!)  You get the picture.  It was good!  My only advice would be to pace yourself, ha ha!

    We are also having our reception at Le Buffet at Paris.  They are doing the cake for us as well.  I think we will have 20-25 people.

    We are having a second reception in my hometown a few months after the wedding, so a buffet was perfect. Plus, it is Vegas.

    Welcome to the board! I've only ever seen the Caesars Palace room attached to the buffet room when we were scouting last summer.. and it holds about 50 people I would say. I didn't end up getting any prices in the end as we decided not to get married at Ceasars.

    But the food at the Bellagio was awesome! We ate breakfast there every morning and ate dinner there one night. We we stuffed, but it was so good! Thankfully you do so much walking everywhere you don't feel as bad stuffing your face... 

     I agree with SD210 - pace yourselves! :) There's a lot of great food :)

    Not Bellagio but...

    Wicked Spoon at Cosmo has a private room that can be used for a smaller group. We were a party of 10 also.

    The room for a weekday was minimal, maybe $100 over what our cake and and p/p cost totalled. We only needed to spend $100 more to use the room, no additional charge. We decided against it because my MIL has mobility issues and it would have been difficult for her to go back and forth.

    Don't think a buffet is strange at all. We are going to Wicked Spoon at Cosmo. We figured for people traveling to Vegas, allowing them to pick whatever kind of food and how much was the best way to go. As people have mentioned, they have a private room but the food minimum can be high and don't think it's worth it for 10 people. Heard good thinks about bellagio and Paris buffets.

    Actually, I'm having my reception at Paris Village Buffet too and I first booked only for 10 people and I'm gonna be in the Alsace room and there was no problem. We'll finally end up being about 25 but yeah, it wasn't a problem to book for only 10 people! We have the room for 2 hours at $45 each person too.

    They also provide us with the cake! A 8"X6" 2 tier for $140!

    Did you get to pick the design on your cake and will they be cutting it for you? I am looking into a buffet reception and was wondering this.
