Minnesota-Minneapolis and St. Paul

What do you think about my Timeline?

I would love your thoughts on my tentative timeline for the day:

2:30pm – 3:15pm Ceremony
3:15pm – 3:45pm Receiving line and Bubble exit
3:45pm – 4:15pm Travel to Reception site
4:30pm – 6pm CH
6pm – Dinner
7:30pm – Dance

From leaving the Church at 3:45pm until the dinner at 6pm, we plan on traveling the ½ hour to the reception site as well as stopping along the way to take pictures with the wedding party. That should give us about 1 ½ hours to take pics. We will also take pictures for another 1 ½ hours before the ceremony. Will that be enough time for pictures?

Would it be better to have an extended 1 ½ hour CH (as it stands) or have it only last one hour but have a gap between the Ceremony and Reception?

Any other thoughts?
TIA!

I think your timeline looks good.  As a guest, I don't care for gaps between the ceremony and reception.  A lot of guests head straight to the reception, so it's nice to start the cocktail hour soon after they arrive.  As for how long you need for photos, I think it's a matter of personal preference.  FI and I want photos in various locations around town, so we're blocking off three and a half hours for ours.  If we only wanted a couple locations close by, we'd definitely need less time.

I think it looks similar to the timeline we used.  You can see the detail in my bio under Documents.  We had plenty of time for photos, we did formals prior to ceremony at church and outdoor photos on the way to the reception.
