2011 photographer, videographer and dj recommendations!

Hi ladies,

I am looking for recommendations for photographer, videographer, and dj at a reasonable price. We are paying for the wedding ourselves so our budget is pretty tight! Our wedding is on July 3, 2011 in Foxboro. Anyone have any suggestions?

Also, has anyone had good luck with The Pros? I got a quote from them of about $2300 for photographer, videographer, and dj combo. Sounds too good to be true...

Thanks!!

I would steer away from The Pros. You don't get to meet who you're working with until the day of and at that point it's too late. Same with photo/video places like Bella.

If you give us a dollar limit for each vendor, the girls here can give you a ton of suggestions.

Ditto JBs on The Pros....remember, you can get things for reasonable prices, but you get what you pay for.  We have a friend whose friend is a DJ/owner of Mixtape Entertainment (www.mixtape-entertainment.com), and with our deal, he and our photographer are $2200.  We are using John LoConte (www.johnlophoto.com) for photography.  Loved his work! And we are using Dave from WAVES in Salem NH.  All are very affordable, a we are paying for our wedding in its entirety as well!!!

    Hi there--
I am also on a tight budget as my FI and I are paying for the wedding ourselves. But I knew that I wanted to allot more money on photography than anywhere else. We are using Studio Atticus (www.studioatticus.com).  She's more photojournalistic, telling a story through pictures.  I really like her style and she's been great so far.

    Good luck!

We went with Beat Train Productions for our DJ and John LoConte for our photographer. I really liked both of them and can't wait for our wedding.

Stay away from the Pros! My cousin used them and never got her photos or video!

We are using www.djdavelynch.com for DJ and www.curtisweddings.com for video. We have not booked a photographer yet though.

I am not using this vendor, but he is an old friend of FI that we recently found out is doing wedding photography. If we didn't already have a photographer, we totally would have met with him.

In my opinion his price is good and he has a really nice portfolio! I know he is kinda new to the business but def has experience already.

I believe my DJ ....DJ Dave Lynch does weddings in MA and he is very affordable!

    Hope this helps!

Stay out of MA..use RI vendors..much cheaper! John from Wedding Stories for video, DB Photography www.dbwedd.com for photographer. We are using both of them and found them through a family member who is also a wedding coordinator.  We also met with Berry Photos and loved his work..very reasonably priced. We are using Nuimage for a DJ...a little pricey. Have heard great things about Greg Capozzi from C-Zone and think his prices are reasonable. Good luck!

I also noticed that RI vendors tend to be cheaper! I went to a bridal expo at Gillette and the prices were WAYY lower and their work was lovely. I am using a NH photographer. Catharine Morris at Cmorrisphotography.com. All i Have to do is send her the deposit, but I am waiting for a new contract cuz I totally messed it up haha. DJs I havent booked yet either. My wedding is may 21, 2011 so you should be able to have plenty of time like me to find stuff. good luck!

I would say we are looking to spend less than $3000 on photographer, videographer, and Dj. Looking at prices lately though, I'm beginning to think that probably will not be possible....
Anyone here spend around that amount?? Think it is possible??

If you are trying to stay with a smaller budget, it may be worth it to check out local colleges for up and coming students who are talented, but can stand to be paid lower rates. It might not seem ideal, but I DO know there is a lot of talent out there that might work for what you are looking for.

DItto RI being way cheaper. I second John from Wedding Stories www.weddingstoriesri.com
Also, for photographer Jen from Zenobia Studios www.zenobia-studios.com
teriffic! Well worth the price. THey dont tell u this in their initial package list but they do book by the hour which can be way cheaper
For DJ, I would say try www.VictorfromPartyTime.com hes awesome.

I dont think you'll get away with 3k for all three. If you do, you will really get what you pay  for in a bad way. You would be better off saving elsewhere and spending on these three vendors. The DJ especially defines how good your reception/party atmosphere is...and you photog and video, thats all you have when all is said and done...
