Fresh Kettlecorn Favors? Weird?

So my mom know someone who makes fresh kettlecorn at festivals and fairs, and this woman is gung-ho about making some for my wedding. She's been asking my mom about it a lot, and I feel like I should include her. It's delicious, and she's ridiculously cheap, so it's not necessarily a bad thing.

I was wondering if you guys thought kettlecorn in a clear bag with ribbon would be weird?? It seems a little weird to me. But it would be made fresh and everything right before the wedding... I want to know what you think. If you think it's weird, I guess we can always accept and secretly eat it ourselves. Haha!

I thought it would be cute if I made some sort of tag to attach with some kitchy phrase about love/marriage with some kind of popcorn reference.

    Why do you tempt me to NY? I flove kettle korn, if anyone at my table complained I would eat theirs too. It just might be a lot of work right before the wedding.

    I think that would be cute, Kat! Esp. if you made some lil tags or something to go with.  No one can complain about free popcorn! lol

    I don't think it's weird and can look really cute!

    But I don't like kettlecorn so I wouldn't eat it though : /

    I think it would be kinda adorable. Given how fresh and light and springy your wedding is, I think it would be super cute as a favor.

    It would be really cute. I guess you have her make you a trial batch when you go back home so you can put it in a bag and see how buig the tags need to be so that when she makes the kettle corn she can affix the tags for you as well so you don't have to stress about that.

    Okay, I'm glad you don't think it's weird. That makes me feel better. I guess I was worried it would like like we shoved microwave popcorn into plastic bags, hahaha. Gross!


    Anyone have any good popcorn-esque phrases....

    the only key words to play on I can think of so far: pop, corny, kernel, butter, hmm....

    maybe it doesn't HAVE to go with popcorn? IDK!

    I think it sounds like a great idea.  I love food favors!  I wouldn't worry about people thinking you used microwave popcorn - you'll get to taste it first right? -so you'll know if it's any good.

    I'm going to Barnes & Nobel at lunch to get the books!  At least that will be somethign to help make the time pass while I'm waiting to MOVE!  Packing is going good - I got everything ready to go this past weekend - FI is coming up this Thursday (woohoo) to move all my things down... I can't believe it's finally time!

    Ah!! good luck!! I can't believe it either! It seems like yesterday you just start posting saying your BF might propose soon!

    Are you moving a lot of big stuff? or ditching it?
