Funny RSVP conversation (little long)

So I haven't gotten any RSVP's yet since most people got their invites yesterday & today, but last night one of the groomsmen text FI:

GM (text) - Do I have to return the RSVP if I'm in the wedding?"
FI reads outloud and looks at me.
Me: "Yes - I want cards for everybody so I have an exact count in front of me"
FI: "He wants to know if he has to mail it back or if he can just give it to me at work"
Me: "Well there's an envelope with a stamp on it, so I'd like it mailed back so I know where it is"

FI texts GM - "You can give it to me - It'll be our secret"
GM texts back - "My wife says there's a stamp on it so I have to mail it - I guess we know who runs our houses"

LOL - I love it and his wife! Although it annoys me that people have questions with RSVPs. It's in an envelope with a stamp on it - just stick it in the mailbox! jeesh. Plus if he actually gave it to FI there's no telling where it would end up!

    That's awesome!! I just ordered my stamps. White wedding cake $0.64 for the outside and white roses $0.44 for the RSVP envelopes.

    That's exactly what I had too! My pocketfolds made it too heavy for the 44 cent stamps on the outside.

    That's so funny! JP wanted to hand deliver our invites to like everyone on Christmas since we saw at least half of our guests that weekend. I had to clearly explain how important it was to have proper etiquette and send them out, with a stamp. lol MEN.

    People tried to hand give me RSVP cards and I told them to mail them since I put stamps on them.  I even made my coteacher, whom I'm next too 6 hours a day, mail his back.

    Too funny!  Love the wife.  

    And yes, people are special when it comes to RSVPs.  I will have only gotten maybe a dozen back of the 75 I sent out and the RSVP deadline passed over a month ago.  Of course it doesn't really matter for my wedding since it's a DW but... seriously!  I wasted so much money on stamps!

    how in the world did you get away with 64 cent stamps?  my pocket fold invites needed 84 cents of postage!  I'm so jealous!  we ended up putting two 44 cent stamps on ours because the 84 cent stamps were so ugly

    Wow, that's really awful of your guests. I mean, I've always heard of a few people not replying, but 60+ not responding?! I'm saying this in the nicest way possible, but that seems like a whole lot of rude people you invited to your wedding. Maybe it's a good thing they can't make your DW.

    I was reading the OP to my FI, whose response was "what's wrong with that?"  he thinks we should hand deliver the invites and get the RSVPs back by email!

    I don't think men understand the joy we get out of mailbox stalking and tearing into those little envelopes!  We had ours preprinted with our address and they say "The Future Mr & Mrs E*******" on them...  I CAN'T WAIT to see that in our mailbox!
