[QUOTE]If you have her number, I would totally find someone to report the owner to. That's horrible.

Yep, this. You should report her.

    Awww Hi little Kitty!

I'm so glad your H found her and you all are gong to take care of her. Even if it's just to find her another home.

  • 1) Your husband is awesome.
    2) Keep the cat.
    3) You have a dog? Teach him/her the "leave it" command. It's not too difficult. Let me know if want some step-by-step instructions for it.

Congrats! What a very lucky kitty,

  • Aww she's precious! Your H sounds like a sweetie :)

  • Aw, what a cute puppy.

She had a collar with a tag? Did the tag have an address? I would just take the kitty and the tag to the ASPCA. That way they have the info from the tag and can see the kitty and that she is in good hands. But tell them you want to keep the kitty.

I agree with whoever said she looks like an Abby!

  • Oh, if I lived closer I would come and grab her. What a cutie!

  • I find it very bizarre that they got the kitty a collar and tag and then just left it on the side of the road.

How sweet of your H to save it :)

Oh I just adore my husband, he's such a sweetheart. And yes we have a dog; she's a great dane. She actually hasn't bothered kitty at all. Kitty pawed at Annie and Annie (with her monsterous paws) pretty much knocked her over and they just played for a while. It's Annie's bed time anyway though so she's sleeping and Randy's laying on the bed with our still nameless kitten sound asleep on his chest. The local shelter wants to send their representative to the vet tomorrow to meet us there for filing and prosecution purposes. I'm 99% sure that we'll be keeping her...unless something drastic happens but she'll just go to my mom's house as a present for my sister. Anyone think that it'd be too confusing to have an Abby and an Annie? I also like Karma...it's very fitting. I guess we'll just see what she responds to best. But I'm heading up to bed. Night ladies

  • That's how my parents ended up with dog #2. Mom saw a "stray" walking in their neighborhood. She took him to their house, called the number on his collar, and it was a man's cell. He was in Missouri, and his wife was home. Gave mom the number to the house. Lady said, "I don't want him; XX was supposed to get rid of him. I'm not coming to get him." He'd escaped from their backyard.

Dad had immediately bonded with this dog. Mom called the man again, and he faxed papers saying that he was turning over ownership to my parents to either find him a home or take him in legally.

At their house, Monte ate turkey carcasses, rats, mice, and all kinds of crap. The rodents were like a game for him. He'd line them up for them and they'd praise him. This dog's living the life of luxury right now. But he can still but a hurting on a squirrel chase (squirrel still wins - and they swim, did you know?).

For 45 years, all but 3 of our dogs have been rescue, either like that or from shelters; including mine and my brothers.

You did a good thing, bringing that little kitten in. People have no heart. Seriously - I can't even imagine.

I love you Missy. Even though you are not smart enough to take online quizzes to find out really important information. ~cew

[QUOTE]Jemmini - <strong>was that in the Valley?</strong>  WTF? Dana - she's adorable!  I hope it works out that you can keep her and I'm thrilled you're reporting that evil woman.

Yeah, I grew up in Maryvale...unfortunately, those kinds of things happened often there.   But at least we got a sweet dog out of it.  My parents still have him, he's probably around 14 or 15 years old now.

  • I don't think Annie and Abby would be confusing. But I do think Karma is cute too.
That's good that animal services is going to send someone out there, and I'm so glad your dog gets along with kitty!

I actually bought the City Kitty kit, but essentially, you can start with a regular litter box on the floor. Gradually raise it higher until it's level with the toilet. If you use the kit, you put the provided tray under the seat. The cat learns to put her weight on the seat. Gradually you remove the center of the tray (at this point, use flushable litter like sWheatscoop) until the tray is no longer needed. I've heard some people have had success using a disposable roasting pan. If you go to the City Kitty website, they have a video of how it works.

  • I have two names reserved for any future cats I may have (currently have one little fur ball named David Bowie) but since you have rescued this adorable kitty I will share the names with you: John Cougar Mellencat or Chicken. You cannot go wrong with either name.
