BF just called. I figured he would. His Dad is supposed to be picking up his cat this afternoon. His Dad is coming over soon. Oh ya, and he's coming home so he can go to the ER (his Dad is driving him). He has a nail through his finger. It's only his third day back at work after being off for 2 months to go to class. I know it's just a nail through a finger, but let's be honest, any construction injury requiring a trip to the hospital isn't a good thing.
So, I'm nervous for him to get home, not knowing what to expect. I have no idea how long he's going to be stuck at the hospital for, etc etc. Distract me! (And while you're at it, please send vibes!)
(Today has been sh!tty all around, but this is probably the icing on the craptastic day cake.)

I'd expect a bit of a wait - but assuming the nail is still in his finger when he arrives, i'm sure he will be bumped to the front of the line. Everything will be fine and your BF will be back to normal in no time! Keep your head up and maybe watch a movie or call a girlfriend tonight to keep you distracted.
I was in the ER with BF about a month ago. He's in construction too, and came home with respiratory complaints after sweeping up a site where they had done mold remediation. It was effin scary.

So, I'll tell you a "funny" finger injury story. My dad is a retired cop (he was on the force for 30 years). I don't remember the details of the call he was on, but he and a couple other guys ended up with some minor injuries and they sent them all to the hospital. The ended up soaking my dad's hand 'cause one of his fingers (if I remember correctly, it was the middle finger) had received some kind of puncture of something. He ended up being the one in the ER the longest 'cause they wanted to make sure there was no infection, etc. Well, they finally decided to release him and the nurse came in and put a band-aid on his finger. He looked at her and said "nuh-uh". She gave him this questioning look. He said there's no way I'm walking out of this ER after all this time and facing my fellow officers after all this with just a little band-aid on my finger. She caught on. Next thing you know he's got one of those huge splints wrapping his finger and I think they even put him in a sling for a couple days. And of course he milked it for all it was worth.
Angie -- I love that story! Awesome!
