Weight loss / Work out Wednesday!

I failed last week with FI coming back home after 3 monthes of being away!  Back on track this week though!!!  He noticed the 8 lbs loss, but he lost 20 lbs - MEN!

I ran Monday, going to run tonight (weather permitting) and Zumba tomorrow.

Really back on track with food too with meal planning and sticking to it.

Re: Weight loss / Work out Wednesday!

  • I went to the gym and did 20min of interval cardio and 20 of weights on Monday and we went for a 2.3mi walk last night after dinner. I wouldn't consider that back on track for me, but after spending my spring break from work vegetating on the couch eating Easter candy, it's a step in the right direction. My bag is packed to go to the gym after work today! FI is there now, but I find it near impossible to get out of bed before I need to get ready for work.
  • I caved and signed back up for Weight Watchers. I hate to spend the money, but it's really the only thing that works for me...as evidenced by the fact that I've already lost 1.5 pounds, whereas before, those numbers were NOT budging, LOL. I'd like to lose 3 more and get down to 150 before my engagement shoot in 2 and a half weeks...

  • I have a question for you ladies and forgive me if this is stupid but here goes but are you finding that after your workout that you are STARVING like all day??? I have been working my a** off and I have lost 25pounds but I feel like I may be putting back on because I am constantly hungry now. (of course this could be my fault because I'm not craving healthy food). Anyone else in the same boat? I thought I would ask here. Any ideas for me not to put the weight back on? Honestly it makes me not want to exercise cause when I don't, I am not starving all day but then of course I want to exercise to get to my goal weight. Okay, enough said. lol Thanks ladies.

I add a few more high protein and fiber snacks to my day when I work out.  This helps.  Hard boiled eggs, almonds, etc really help curve the hunger monster!!!  When you work out you need a little more food, just make sure it's not empty calories that will only make you more hungry.

also sometimes I just drink a big glass of water first... and if i'm still starving, I'll grab the snack... most times i'm like "nah i'm good!"

  • Now that you mention protein, whenever the hunger monster comes, that's ALL I want so maybe that's my problem. Perhaps I am not eating the right foods when I am working out thus creating this huge hunger issue. Thanks so much for the ideas on what to eat when I workout.

  • I am meeting with a personal trainer tonight as my weigh lose has plateaued...I went full steam ahead in October 2011 and am down 15 lbs I am walking about 3-5 miles a day, plus weight lifting , going to the gym... but I am stuck

so we'll see what she says tonight, getting a full assesment done.

  • I'm on week 4 of c25k and have switched to running outside instead of at the gym, which I like so much more!!  But I couldn't get my eating under control, so I also caved last night and joined WW.  So I'm on the right track now but the scale's moving very slowly.

  • Rhea - sometimes I also find eating a bigger breakfast helps too... try getting at least 10 grams of protien in the morning.  I know that helped me a lot too.

Cbear - YAY C25K!!!  Outside is SO MUCH BETTER.  I have a running buddy that just started and she wants to go on the dreadmill and i'm like NOOOOOO OUT SIDE!!!!!

  • I've been working out religiously but ate crappy Sat & Sun and i blame TOM.
But I started clean again Monday, and so far my workouts have been

Sat- Turbokick and yard work all day
    Mon- 4 mile run
    Tues- strength & tone class
    Tonight- interval training
  • I just started C25K last week.  I run on a bike trail in a park near our apartment. Are any of you signed up for a race?  I signed up for The Color Run.  The Columbus one is in July so I've got a little over 13 weeks.  It's not a timed race (thank god) but it's still my first one.  FSIL and some of her cousins are on a team.

  • I've been doing ok.  Haven't been eating horribly bad, except on Saturday.  It was FI birthday party/crawfish boil and there was too much food and too much alcohol, so my calorie intake was huge that day!!  Back on working out this week, as we were only able to get one day in last week, and did Insanity this morning and will do it every morning til Saturday.  Need to really step it up and try to loose at least 2lbs before e-pics next week!  It will make me feel more confident.  Wish me luck!

  • What is the color run? I am envisioning paint and getting messy.... I feel like I may have seen something like this somewhere?

I joined the gym with my mom (who has been going for a month or so) on Monday. We get to go for $10 a month through our church - which is awesome. Finally. I have been meaning to and have not had time. I couldn't go on Tuesday because that's my insanely long day (altho the last two hours of it is square dancing so that should count a little, right?)

I did 40 min on the elliptical and went through the circut training thing. I plan on doing the same thing tonight when we go. I want to get a lifting sheet worked out (I used to have a routine I did for soccer) so I can do more with the free weights.... but I don't have a lot of time to do that right now. I have been MIA from TK for a while so I thought I would sneak in a few minutes.

I am so excited to start working out again!!
  • I just started asking my friends if anyone wants to do the color run with me in nyc!  It looks like a blast! Its a 5K and for each 1K you finish they toss colored cornstarch at the runners, different color for each one.  They have air blowers at the end so you can "dust" yourself off but looks really fun to be covered in all the colors.  Its not about speed, not even sure it is timed, more about getting out there and having a great time.

Food wise I have been doing well this week, weight keeps going down so Im doing something right LOL.  Have to get my butt back to the gym next week.  Took on a second job (cake decorating) in Feb and have had barely any time to breathe let alone work out!!  Ending my classes next week so I can start working on me again, its crunch time now!

  • Today was my motivation day to finally get going on eating better and exercising more.  I was having some dress regret and decided to try everything on all at once.
It was beautiful and I don't regret it, but it doesn't fit anymore!  Actually, the dress does fit but the undergarments are too tight and I couldn't even get into them.  Yikes - curse the stomach and back fat.
Now the hardest part will be eating better, I tend to junk out big time especially during the stress.  I have a physical job but obviously I'm overloading that with all the junk food.
Time to drag FI out on some walks - we've been talking about getting moving again once the weather is nicer, and WOW seems to be the perfect day to start. :)

</div><div>It's not timed so you're responsible for timing yourself if you want to know how you did.</div><div>Lepoissonrouge, <a rel="nofollow" href="http://thecolorrun.com/">http://thecolorrun.com/</a> There's the link for it so you can see what it is and find one nearby maybe. It looks like the closest ones for you (assuming you are in Cincy) are either Columbus, Indianapolis or Louisville. Make sure to watch the video, that's what sold me. If you decide to join the Columbus one, let me know.  I'll ask FSIL if you can join our team. You get a better rate if you register as part of a team.</div>
