Lurker - coming out!

Hi ladies! I've been lurking around off and on for maybe the past year or so (creepy? maybe) and finally decided to sit down and say hi! I have really enjoyed reading the posts here and always want to comment, but I hate when random lurkers jump in the middle of a discussion so I've refrained.

But anyway, a little about me real quick. I'm 28, live in FL, got married 3/18/12, and have a 7 year old daughter. I like to read and cook, among other things. I'm pretty much an open book, so fire away if you have questions!

I really enjoy reading Nebb's, Duds and Blue's posts. I don't have a least favorite poster really.

Did I miss anything? Oh well, supposed to be working but it is what it is. :-)

Haha. Thanks! Sorry, I knew I was forgetting something! No, no pets here. DD wants a dog but we live in a townhouse with no yard to speak of, so that's on hold for the time being. I'd like to get a dog when we buy a house. H had a min schnauzer growing up and I had a lab/boxer mix. DD wants a chihuahua... Lol.

@AATB - Oh, no worries there! I like the idea of a min schnauzer. I don't want a huge dog, but nothing super small either.

Whenever I see Central Florida, I always wonder if I know the person ha. Now that I say that out loud it sounds stupid.

Before we got Lucy we were kind of at an impasse about what size of dog we should get. I like bigger dogs (think labs, pitts, etc) and Ben loves little dogs (pomeranians, etc - chihuahuas are actually his fave! WTF). So we compromised. Lucy is probably on the smaller side, but she's sturdy. The last thing I want in my house is a dog I'm afraid to step on, lol.

Not on board? Your H is cray! Puggles are so much fun! Great with kids, friendly, energetic, but also great snugglers, very sweet. Kind of a bitch to train (lol) but eh, such is life. Plus they are foffing cute. Lucy is almost a year and a half old and she still has a sweet puppy face!

I'm going to work on this. Lol. Maybe I'll just start putting puggle pictures all over the house. Eventually he'll fall in love and I'll just come home with one after work one day. He'll be thrilled!

Min schnauzers are awesome

That is the only kind of dog I've ever had and I love them. Lucy is H's first dog ever and he wants another schnauzer when we eventually get a 2nd dog. As much as I love them, I've had 5 at various points in my life already and I kind of want to branch out to something different. We will see.

When Lucy was a puppy, she would run up to Riley (my parents min schnauzer), slap her in the face, and then realize "oh shiit she's bigger than me, what did I do now??" and dive under the coffee table. It was hilarious.

Our wedding was outdoors which was something we had both agreed on early in our engagement. We have been together for 5 years now and were engaged for about a year and a half. We had a canoe full of beer and an open bar. It was pretty sweet. The weather was absolutely perfect. We had about 100 people there, mostly from out of state since neither of us are originally from here. Some minor hitches day of, but nothing I even noticed or really cared about. We had my brother and a friend play guitar for the ceremony. H and the GM walked out to Enter Sandman which was hysterical. I walked out to a Katy Perry song - I think it's called Not Like the Movies or something.

I enjoyed having a longish engagement. I only had a few stressful moments. My biggest one was two days before the wedding and realizing that we had two tables worth of escort cards that I somehow didn't print. Oops! We caught it and it was fine. No BM drama or anything like that, which seems to be so common.

For ladies who aren't married yet, when is the big day??

I work for a major insurance company in the special investigative unit - we essentially investigate potentially fraudulent claims. It basically means that I'm searching the internet all day, which lends itself nicely to TK. :-)
