    Classic!

What is a bridle shower?  Is it a horse fetish thing?  I would think one would want to keep that kind of thing private.

  • What's a household shower? I'm sorry if that's a n00b question or somethng I should know by now, but I'm thinking it's something I would not approve of...

  • I'm guessing since they also say "no white towels" that it is for anything that you would use to run your house (dishes, pans, sheets, mixers, etc) and the "bridle" shower is to get the bride a new saddle blanket, possibly a new whip for her wedding night.

Household shower is a gift-grab in which the cash cows, I mean guests, are asked to bring "household" items like pots and pans, sheets and towels.  What most people would call "wedding gifts."

I might need to call Reg @ Walmart though, for clarification.

I really love that the MOB is hosting the shower, and making it extra convient for the guests by hosting two separate showers (wrap those gifts separately!) in one day.

No, that's not my real name. And FH's name isn't Nun (as in Nun ya bidness) either.

Household showers usually entail gifts specifically for the house--kitchen items, bathroom items.

Really, it is like a regular shower, but the guests are told what kind of gifts to bring instead of letting them decide what they want to do.

  • Thank you for the replies! I figured that the household shower was, well, a shower where the guests are told to bring household items...But , like, that's what a shower is, pretty much... so it confused me. :(

But, I guess the MOB needed to make sure she got enough items for her house and the stable...

  • There's just so much "wrong" to go around on this invitation:
    hosted by mother
    2 showers in one
guests told not to give white towels
    Bridle shower

Plus all the punctuation, capitalization and other errors.
  • Im guessing the no white towels makes me think that she is marrying someone with a Mike Rowe-ish job.

And a bridle shower is either horse related or S&M related and I'm not really sure I'd want to attend either.

So all horse jokes aside -- what would be the difference between a household shower (where we give towels, just god forbid not white ones!) and a bridal shower? Would a bridal shower be things just for the bride then? Like lingerie?

  • My understanding of a Bridal shower is that it is personal items such as lingerie.
