Morning!

How is everyone this fine Monday morning? I've got a 4 day work week this week, and then it is spring break next week. Woot!

  • If I thought I was sick yesterday, it's nothing compared to today. Hence, I'm here. All day because I'm sure as hell not going to work.

Which will make mine a 3 day work week. Which is good and bad.

  • Good Morning!

Monday so far is not so good.  Woke up fighting with H and then accidently broke the wine decanter his crew gave us as a wedding gift.  I'd say I need a ddrink, but now we have nothing to decant the wine in!

  • Good morning!

Fische, I'm sorry to hear you're sick!  Do you have the flu or a cold or what?

I had an awesome weekend, and I'm glad it's a 4 day week!  The Final 4 is in Indy so there are free concerts all weekend and we're going to see Stone Temple Pilots on Friday.  Woohoo!

  • Well, my temp. is up to 101.4 this morning, it feels like I'm swallowing needles when I swallow and I have this cough that seems to start way down in the depths of my lungs.

    It's pretty awesome.

  • Morning.  Spring Break has decidedly passed here, and we don't even get Good Friday off from classes, so I'm already bummed out for the week.  And FI and I had issues with friends last night - people get so uptight over religion that it makes me sick :(

On the bright side, I got a full 8 hours of sleep last night, so I'm well rested! =]

  • LVB, I saw your post about hairdressers the other night.  I have a lady in the Baltimore area that never takes off more than you request.  If you want her name, let me know.

  • Fische, FI got it and gave it to me. I'm at work today because I'm pretty sure it's going to get worse. Blah.
  • Aw, Guppy.  I'm sorry you feel like crap.

I can send some chicken noodle soup your way?

  • Morning...

It's a good Monday for me, it's my day off.   I plan on finishing my book, doing laundry, being lazy and maybe cooking something.  I'm even giving DH the car so I do not have to leave the house if I do not want too.

Fische - Sorry you do not feel well.  There has been a stomach bug going around here.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
  • Hensley, it does. I felt mildly shitty yesterday and feel like death today! So at least you have THAT to look forward too!

BEEEEEE!!! Yes. CNS would be fantastic. I could also use some Mr. B breakfast about now.

  • I'm jealous of everyone that gets a Spring Break!  Gah! I'm taking Friday off to hang out with Robert before he heads out of town for work. So, at least this is a short week.

Uhoh, Fischey, I'm sorry you're sick.  I thought I was getting sick yesterday, but I can breathe again so I think it was just allergies.

It's still pouring buckets, but it's supposed to be gorgeous tomorrow, thank God!

  • Morning everyone!

Sorry you're sick Fishy :(  My FI had a mild cold this weekend and whined about it like you wouldn't believe.  Men can be such babies.

I'm so glad it's a four day week.  We should also find out this week whether or not we'll be able to move into the FIL's house until the wedding.  Not an ideal solution, but definitely a money saver and wouldn't lock us into a lease since we want to move south after the wedding.  The whole situation is stressful and with FI's unemployment running out and him trying to find a job I have a very short fuse and I feel bad for those who cross my path this week.

Before you send that all to Fischey, can I come over for some??? Pleaaase?
  • Fischey, sorry you are sick! Are you suspecting flu or strep?

2 quick brags - husband's rasie came through last Friday, and it was double what he was expecting. Ends up being an 18.75% raise, yeah! And found out yesterday that I've got a duet to sing Sunday morning at church. I had told the choir directore that I might not make it to church, depending on my daughter's recovery from surgery. He told me that it would be better that I come, since I've got a duet from the Messiah to sing Sunday morning. Since we have hired some members of a local symphony to play with us that morning, it is probably better that I be there. Looks like I've got some practicing to do.

That is AWESOME news!  I'm sure your daughter will be okay for a bit.  It's oral surgery, right?
  • I'm starting week two of doing my coworkers job while she's out for surgery, and I really wanted to call out this morning because I just don't want to do it.

Not sure how common this is in your area, but what about renting someone's guest house (also known as MIL quareters).

Hmm...I don't know how we'd go about finding that.  I've been using Craigslist mostly to find things.  I don't know anyone who has a guest house...maybe in the nicer parts of town, haha.

Yeah, they're usually attached to larger homes in bigger neighborhoods.  The development near my parent's house has a ton of guest houses.

And in Miami they're pretty common.  I guess it's cause relatives never move out so they just make their houses bigger :)
  • Good morning! I drove FI to the airport this morning, but blessedly, his flight was at 8:30 and not 6 like the past few weeks. We get to the airport and he realizes he doesn't have his wallet. So we do a mad dash back to our house and then he realizes that his wallet is in the center console of his car. Awesomeness. He still made his flight though.
