I am at work today, trying to avoid working.. baking two cakes tomorrow night, have engagement photos saturday morning, and birthday party for FI and dad saturday afternoon... still haven't bought a gift for either of them, and have no clue what to buy!
I'm just chillin, working on heading out to get a Halloween gift to my baby nephew in the mail later. I'm just sitting around looking for jobs today which is pretty much what I do everyday.
I got to a stopping point on my project and sent it for initial review, so now I'm catching up on laundry and cleaning so I can paint two walls later and install the cabinets that go on them. Then I can begin storing/organizing all the piles of books and crap and have empty rooms!
I have to do all this by 8 though so I can watch NBC season premieres tonight. 30 ROCK!!!!!! Squeeee!
oo what kind of cakes? I love to bake, but don't do it very often anymore.
I just found the greatest place for gifts (although it won't help you because it's local). It's called the Tea and Spice exchange and it literally has every spice, salt, sugar, and tea you could think of in huge glass jars that they let you sniff and taste. They have spice mixtures, so I got my SIL all these Mexican and curry spices with a really nice mixing bowl set for her upcoming wedding.
They had Pinot Noir salt that almost made me puke smelling it. And the Adobe spice stayed in my nose for three blocks.
I'm supposed to be leaving the office in about 15 minutes. I haven't done anything at all this afternoon. I've refused. I can't wait for Dexter this weekend!

Just call me "Brothel"
And betrothed, I'm disgusted with most of the comments that you have posted. I don't think I've ever read such judgmental comments in my life. I'm so lucky that the girls I speak to on theknot are nothing like you...I would've never come on here for ADVICE if I would've encountered a big a bitch as you. I genuinely feel awful for your children or your future children, and I think it would be irresponsible of YOU not to invest in their future therapy sessions starting now. Because trust me when I tell you honey, they're gonna need it. ~jcaruncho2010
my read shelf:
i'm having a breakdown but besides that, I've spent the last hour trying to get a pic of my cats without one of them moving or twitching an ear. Why, you may ask? Because 2 box-kitties are better than 1.

Is anyone else friends with Dexter on FB? They are getting me so hyped. I'm going to a party at a friends and thought about making red velvet cake... or bringing over blood oranges
ETA: is red velvet cake hard to make? Was it Roxy who had hers go wrong?

I've made one and it wasn't that bad! I use cake flour as opposed to regular flour and I find that helps when I bake cakes.

I had to go back and start over with Dexter. I've only seen season 1 while it was on regular programming, then it was moved permanatly to Showtime. So then I had to re-watch season 1, and get DH invloved so we can move on.....I feel so behind.

Haha, I have a friend who was raised SUPER kosher. Never had pork until he went to college. And now he cooks it all. the. time. He has a smoker at his house and everything. He's a REALLY good cook, too.
I love 2 box kitties. At least yours fit in their boxes. Mine is a fatty.
I've been swamped today, but tomorrow I get to sleep in. This weekend I've got to clean the house because it's disgusting. By my standards, anyway. H insists it's fine. I'm more exciting about finally getting my book going tomorrow than anything else, so that's first on my plate for the long weekend.
I'm playing WordFeud with random strangers. I'm also reading nursing blogs to somewhat prepare/educate myself for what I'm getting myself into when I start school next semester.
My weekend will probably consist of the same. My birthday is Monday, but J will have to work all weekend, so I doubt we do anything crazy.

I love you Missy. Even though you are not smart enough to take online quizzes to find out really important information. ~cew
