Wedding Invitations & Paper

Invite you to witness the marrige of.. does this sound funny?

This is the ceremony invitation wording I want to use.

Mom and dad
and
mom and dad
invite you to witness
the marrige of

me
and
him

this works fine right? it's not a really formal ceremony so the wording doesn't have to be crazy right/formal. Opinions

  • We did "invite you to join us as we exchange our wedding vows"
  • the ceremony is just family. so yes, not everyone is invited to the ceremony. I do not like the "of their children" because it doesn't settle right with me. In my mind this phrase would work for younger people. I'm 25 and he's 40.

[QUOTE]If you are having a private ceremony with just family followed by a larger reception, then you invite people to the reception. You include small cards to the few people who will be invited to the ceremony. I hope we are talking about a very select few immediate family members only. Who is hosting your wedding? You don't put the groom's family on the invitation unless they are hosting.

I thought paying did not necessarily equal hosting. My FI and I are paying 100%, but my parents are hosting. And if I had enough space, I would put FI's parents on the invites too, even though they aren't pitching in a dime
