Engagment session

So my fiance wants to know if we need to tip our photographer when he does our engagement session? I told him no concidering we paid for it but he thinks you need to do some type of gift or something??? Anybody have any advice on what they know/did??!??! Thanks!

    I wouldn't tip for an engagement session.
    The rule of thumb is generally that you tip vendors that don't own the company - if they're just an employee of someone else's company.  All of my vendors were the owners of their respective companies, so I didn't tip anyone at all.

    We did not tip for our engagement session.  We will however give our photographer a small gift of some sort at the wedding for a job well done.  He has been a fabulous resource for all things wedding!

    Thank you guys! I didnt think so but my fiance for w/e reason really thought we'd need to, thats why we PAID him lmao.. Thanks girls!

    you do not need to tip. I myself am a wedding/egagement photographer and sometimes its no tip, sometimes i have gotten a bottle of wine as a "tip". whatever you feel comfortable with is fine :)
