AW: Engagement Photos!

I think this is my first AW post!  We had our engagement shoot with our *awesome* photographer, Leah Haydock, on Saturday.  She is wonderful and she was very accomodating to reschedule our shoot due to rain on the original date.  We ended up with perfect weather Saturday morning!  We started in the public gardens and then wandered over to the waterfront.  It was really fun and she spent a TON of time with us!  She is so fast, she had our whole gallery (of a shocking 120 photos!) up in just 5 days!  I'm SO excited to have her shoot our wedding!

You can see a sample of the photos on her blog here!  I am *loving* how great the pink dress turned out (what a steal from Nordstrom Rack for $45!!!).  I think the escalator photo is my favorite!  :)

    They came out awesome. I love the dress and the color combo of the 2 of you. I am very nervous about getting ours done next month. I have no idea what to wear, how to do my hair and makeup.

    Nope, we decided to risk it.  We figured that for an engagement shoot we wouldn't be as obvious as a wedding (no white dress) and the $100 cost was just too much.  We figured the worst they would do is throw us out (and if they fined our photographer, we would have paid it as it was our choice).  But no one stopped us or anything.  And there are so many people/tourists taking photos in the garden with big SLR cameras, I think it is kind of hard to enforce.  We did both the gardens and Christopher Columbus park with no issue.  Although we were only there for less than 20 mins each.

    I just did my hair and makeup myself.  I did do a consultation at Sephora last year and I bought a bunch of makeup they suggested and they showed me how to use it, which was great!

    I totally went on a mad search for the perfect dress before the shoot!  I really wanted this color and I go SO lucky to find it!  I was willing to spend some money and I can't believe I found it at such a steal!  I was searching for like a month before our shoot.  Leah suggested that jewel toned clothing really pops in the photos, and she was right!

    Beautiful!!! You both look really happy and relaxed too! And I clicked on the link to your winter photographs and they're awesome too!

    I have a stupid question - what is AW? I figure out that NWR is "not wedding related" but "AW" is confusing me. I thought it might be "after wedding" but these pictures are obviously before.

    Awww, thanks guys!  Have I mentioned how much we love our photographer?  Leah has taken the best photos of us we have ever had!  I plan to print a bunch of them and have a "wedding photo wall" in our house!  And I'm *SO* excited for our wedding photos now!  It was totally worth splurging to hire her!

    Love them! We haven't done our spring shoot with Leah yet. My FI has been out of town on business a lot. I hope we get them in. These are amazing!

    Also, good to know what AW means. I've been wondering that for a loooong time.

    I love your dress! That's such a steal for $45!!! Gotta love Nordstrom. The escalator pic is my fave, too!
